No Application Loaded
I have been having issues today after being able to upload programs perfectly all day. Now, all of a sudden I get this no application error. I cannot upload a program no matter what I try in IQANrun7. I tried uploading in safe mode but had no luck. When I try to upload the window pops up and disappears.

We are having the same issue. We have a machine which is flashing the Y1:2 code for no application available. This machine has operated with no changes to the software- it definitely has software installed.
I would recommend checking the address resistor, as we have had this error before when we have found a bad connection/ break on the address resistor.
Unfortunately this didn't work for us on this current fault, so we are after advice on other potential causes.
Thanks for the comment Chris!. If you remove the address resistor (even just one end) or short the connection the controller should start in safe mode which I was not seeing.I will try replacing that resistor maybe an intermittent connection of the resistor during startup can cause the issue. I will let you know if I have any luck on that. Appreciate the help
I'm also sending the controller back to my distributor so they can review it.
I am having this issue on another unit. Still no idea how I can get a program uploaded. Replaced the address resistor, replaced the wiring. Now I am looking at firmware and software.
Apologies for hijacking your thread, but we have also now encountered this on two machines. We ended up going out to them (they were in another country) and sending the application to them over CAN and they started working again. This means in our case at least, that something happened to cause the application to be deleted from the controller. Our situation is rectified for now, but we are anxious to get answers as to what could cause this.
I hope you find a fix.
All good. Sounds like a headache. Im going to try uploading using different versions of iqan run (waiting for IT to approve) then will try to upload over can. Ive never uploaded a program over CAN before.
I was using IQANrun 7.04.9.7413
Another thing I noticed is that It was not uploading the latest firmware version to the MC43
I found When I use IQAN run 6 it works fine. I think I was right about this being a bug in IQAN run 7.04. Not sure which version this started with. I couldnt even upload with CAN or bluetooth on IQANrun 7
I think even a reinstall would likely solve the issue. Hope this helps you Chris. We are in the trenches together while support ignores us haha.
So just another quick update, I uninstalled IQAN 7 and installed the latest version and no longer have an issue. Ive had so many weird issues with IQAN 7. I should have stayed using 6...
Just got about the same behaviour you describe. I Flashed successfully a program and when I try to go in realtime measurement mode I get this pop-up !
Hi Oliver. For me it would appear as if I successfully flashed it but
there would be no application. The sending program sequence was also
very fast, like two seconds when it is usually longer. What solved this
for me was installing the latest version of IQAN. Seems that this was an
issue in IQANrun 7.04 specifically.
After updated the project and the MC43FS controller to the last version, same thing !
Did you update IQANrun or just IQANdesign. For me the issue was IQANrun
My current version is 7.05.26, you can see this in the Help->about
The issue is with IQANdesign for now, I don't use IQANrun for now in this project. I've look to "fall back" this project in 6.08, but this is probably what is the most fustrating : we cannot open a 7.05 code in a 6.0X software version, clipboard copy-paste is not allowed either on that direction, so I must start the code pretty much from scrach in order to have a fall back plan in 6.0X ! Not fair ! :(
how are you uploading your project? With IQANgo?
Finally found the issue ! Parker team really have to change that: It seams the kernel bug and bloc any attempt to communicate if HighSide Output are shorted to the positive power !on boot-up !! You can test it, that's exactly what prevent to communicate with the controller !
I don't really understand but I am glad you figured it out!
Simply everyone must know : if you apply an external source V+ supply on an High Side Digital Out, chances are that the controller (here a MC43FS) falls in protection mode and you might not be able to communicate with it as long as you don't remove pin link to supply and reboot the system. I know, It's stupid, but it's definitely what is happening !! VERY GOOD TO KNOW !
Did you get a flashing fault indication on the status light of you MC43?
I have had issues with those types of electrical faults too and it can be really difficult to localize the cause if you don't know what you are looking for.
In our case we power a warning lamp with one of the HS outputs. On the first revision of the electrical harness, the warning lamp shared ground with the backlight of a few switches.
A loose ground screw led to the backlight circuit reverse-feeding the HS-output through the warning lamp.
This made it impossible to program the module that is powering the warning lamp and it took us way too much time to realize why.
I would really appreciate if the firmware could be modified to allow a partial startup of the module upon faults like this, so that it could be programmed and then produce an understandable error code. Or even better, if it could work partially with an error like this.
You read my mind ! Would be so great to be able to go in real time measurement and see what are the active hardware errors !
