MD5 CAB i/O and JOYSTICKS

Will the MD5 ever be capable of CAN routing or get treated as an expansion with programmable features? APP IN/OUT not ideal and setting up a lot of J1939 messages (80 or more) is cumbersome. Would be nice if the MC43 could see all CAB info from the MD5 via the diagnostic bus or CAN routing via the diagnostic bus..
