Ethernet/modbus communications protocols on MD4?

David Holcomb 10 years ago in IQANdesign updated by I CAN GO 1 month ago 6

We frequently are integrating IQAN into larger systems that frequently have Ethernet/modbus in use.  Any hope of getting communication over the ethernet ports?

We also have a need for communication via Ethernet/IP for MC4x and MD4.

Thank you.

I've gotten 4-5 requests from different people/companies for Modbus support, lots of industrial applications for subsystems, are there any plans towards this by any chance?

Hello All,

On IQAN system we have system communication ports in CAN:  J-1939, or Genereic CAN (CAN-Open)

The Ethernet ports are implemented for Diagosics interface with PC tools, and IP Camera's . Maybe in future Ethernet ports could be used for communication purposes, but not yet in further develomemt .

The Parker IQAN system is more and more succesfully used in Industrial type controlsystem replacing PLC's and Industrial HMI interfaces.

In order to have the IQAN CAN bus to communicate with subsytems using Profibus, Modbus, EtherCat, Profinet, etc..  CAN Interface gateways are succesfully used, for example Anybus gateways :   https://www.anybus.com/technologies/industrial-ethernet/modbus-tcp

Trust this helps

Could we have an update on this topic please. Are there any plans to open up the IP comms handling over Ethernet within the IQAN tool chain. UDP/TCP would be great start followed by addition of deterministic/TSN related capability added over time. Thank you.

Modbus over RS485  would also be nice. Dont take this as a alternative to ethernet, just a possible adjunct

What are the updates here? Is there any progress made in ethernet communication?

What would be a timeline?
