Starting and stopping simulate

Ed Schippers 6 years ago in IQANsimulate updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 1 month ago 3

Starting and restarting of a simulation takes a lot of time and after every (re)start it starts in the same view so when you are working on large projects you need to a lot of clicking before you reach the part that you are testing. this is particularly annoying when testing  functions that run only just after boot up.

It would be nice if there was a function that you could do a restart without stopping the simulation and/or a or a function that when a simulation is started the program it stays in a pre- operational state so that you can navigate to the part of the program that you are testing and then start the program simulation.

Have you tried un-ticking the box "Use different window size when simulating"  ?

This might help as the IQANsimulate program then won't resize windows when starting and stopping.

Is there an idea to change this, unticking the box does not change the fact that at a (re)start in simulate will collapse the functional group tree. when you have to test a large application and you work in combination with design, this beacuse there is no function window in simulate. so you have to start the simulation in design. expending the function group tree every time, you lose so much time only get to the function you are testing

I think I misunderstood the original post five years ago.. When simulating I tend to use IQANdesign for the function view and IQANsimulate function groups mainly for locating channels and placing in simulation groups, usually the Default simulation group.

For all other cases, it would make sense to keep the view IQANsimulate is in when starting a new simulation from IQANdesign.
