COUT not available due to Pin conflict

I just encountered a situation in IQANdesign 6.02 where there was an available COUT channel on an XC43, but it does not let me choose it from the Add button. I'm guessing it doesn't show up because it needs to be a unidirectional version, as I am using the other LS as a DOUT HS + LS. If I right click on the channel that appears to be not available I can add it.

Yes. If you do add the COUT when one of the low-sides are occupied, IQANdesign will give the error Pin conflict.

Depending on which low side you had available, you might resolve the Pin conflict by setting the COUT to bidirectional = No.

The fact that the module shows that the channel is unavailable is misleading. I know that normally if I had looked at the module I would have assumed there were no channels available. Especially since it was also not available in the Add menu. I'm guessing I'm not the only one who would come to the same conclusion. Is there some way to show that the channel is in fact usable?

Edited the title of the post and changed from "problem" to "question".
