Critical Error

Greg R 3 years ago in IQANdesign updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 3 years ago 5

I have a system with 6 MC43 modules and There is a critical fault on one of them bringing the system down. Restarting allows it to run for a while then the fault occurs again.

I have replaced the module and the issue occurred again.

The memory utilization is at 76%, Cycle utilization at 25%.

We are not using APPIN or APPOUT functions. Do not believe we are close to bus overload.

We have the specific code :

4 RED

1 Yellow

Pause

2 Yellow

Pause

4 Yellow

Pause

1 Yellow

Pause

2 Yellow

Repeat.

Can You identify this fault from the code?

This one looks like a problem related to sending out CAN traffic.

Any information on what you have on CAN-A could help

(there were separate mails that came in via a distributor on what I believe is the same error, that may be a better support path if want avoid posting too many details about your application on the forum)

Worth noting on the cycle utilization, to really know how much margin the IQAN module has for processing other tasks than the applicaiton, it is necessary to look at cycle utilization in combination with cycle time.

Yes that is the same issue. I have a call with them today. Thank you.

This issue has been resolved by minimizing can traffic on CAN A
