Ambiguous module address

Ed Schippers 10 months ago in IQANdesign updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 10 months ago 3

In a program, I always used multiple expansion modules with the same address with no problem.

this to select for different output setups (COUT instead of DOUT and so). via a setting one of the modules was enabled.

physically there is only 1 module but by enabling one or the other in the program is was possible to switch between the different setups

in Design 6.x this not possible anymore because it generates an Ambiguous address error.

any suggestion the deal with this

regards Ed

The project check for ambiguous module address was modified for the XC4x, where this check is necessary.

But on XC2x, LC5 and the legacy XA2/XS2 modules, this does not actually have to be an error. In IQANdesign 6.08 there will only be a warning for duplicate addresses used on XC21/22/23, LC5 and XA2/XS2, when enabled with channels.

For XC4x this still needs to be an error.

There is an earlier post on the same topic, here: https://forum.iqan.se/en/communities/1/topics/2997-55093-not-a-bug-a-feature

I am getting an error in 6.07 using the same address tag (1) for two different XA2 modules used for different machine types ( only one is ever enabled).  6.06 and earlier versions work fine. You say this is fixed in 6.08?  What is the timeline for 6.08 to be available?

Yes, with 6.08 the project check will only give a warning for XA2:s used in this way.

The plan is to get version 6.08 released before the end of this month.
