SIC-Project Version in external function
System information channels in external functions do not show the local external function project name, project version, or UUID. Instead it shows the parent project information. This makes it harder to track which IDEX files the project was compiled with at the time of download. I have (6) IDEX files with disparate revision dates embedded in one project and have to track them manually with text parameters now.

The existing method for checking version on .idex files is by viewing the external functions in the main project in IQANdesign.
I edited the topic title and changed topic type from "bugs" to "ideas"
We had a discussion on this and concluded that the system info channel cannot be easily changed to point to information from the .idex.
The recommendation I can give is to keep track of released .idax files, the external function version can be seen from within IQANdesign.
For showing version info on externals on a display for example, the solution with TP (or TFC) that you have now is a good alternative.
