PSVG GPS coordinates

Brendon 2 years ago in IQANdesign updated by Thomas Moberg (System support) 3 days ago 4

Greetings,

Anyone know if it is possible to get the GPS data, specifically coordinates, from the PSVG into the IQAN program?

The Parker Mobile IoT gateway PVSG is sending out J1939 Vehicle Position on the bus.

But with current versions of software, it is not picked up even if you add a J1993 bus and module for the gateway on the  Diagnostics bus where you have the GT module. This is due to how messages from the GT source address is filtered in the IQAN master.

By using a second bus on the IQAN master you can pick it up.

With 7.05 this can be done without the workaround, thanks to this change:

59447Combine GT functionality with JFIN
J1939 messages from the same SA as GT can now be read by the application using JFIN. The exception is messages used for showing GT module info.

Hi Gustav, I'm trying to read GPS position in from the GT / PSVG to either an MD4 or MC43. ^ I can't quite get this solution to work, because I can't assign a JFIN to the GT module to 'set' the source address. Any advice, or do you have a program example you could share?

+1

You add a J1939 module in the system layout with the same source address as the GT module and add the JFIN to that.
