Diagnostic bus with J1939 bus

We are trying to reduce the need for an MC4X in our system and just use an MD5. We are controlling a CAN prop valve, a CAN on/off valve and a CAN joystick. I've seen that you can share the diagnostic bus with a J1939 bus. Is there any limitations to doing this other than high traffic?

I recommend keeping the MC4x, and making sure it is an MC4xFS. Especially if you are going to sell the machine in Europe, where you must consider standards for functional safety.
