Driving Pulsar with the PWM on MC43

Corey Bobbermien 2 weeks ago in IQANdesign updated by Tim Reen 2 weeks ago 3

Hi There,

Hope all is well,

Is there any possibility to drive Proportional 24v 33Hz Pulsar valves with the PWM outputs from a MC43 ? Reading the manual it states that this will not work from MC43,but reaching out to see if it is possible.

ATM I am using the proportional flow from the pump and making the Pulsar more like an ON/OFF, This is working currently but would like to use the Pulsar proportionally.

Thank you

The lowest possible frequency for PWM out on the MC43 is 71 Hz.

Parker do have a 75Hz Pulsar valve option.

Thanks Tim,

I Will try with a 75Hz Pulsar,

I was just Hesistent because the MC manual Had Mentioned this reference.

NOTICE

PWM out HS+LS has an internal free wheeling diode.

Because of the internal diode, this output is not suitable for Pulsar® 33 Hz or 75 Hz

digital poppet style pilot operated valves.

Hi Corey,

You are right, I hadn't notice that before, but the instruction book clearly states the PWM out HS+LS and even the PWM (HS) are not suitable for for Pulsar® 33 Hz or 75 Hz digital poppet style pilot operated valves due to the requirement for external diodes. Apologies for any confusion caused.
