G12 Firmware Update no longer allowing connection with IQAN 6.08
I went to connect to a Display with a G12 this morning and the IQANgo app asked if I wanted to Update to the latest G12 Firmware (2.01.6.5, I think I was on 2.00.5 something before) after updating I received a failed to connect message, followed be a message that there was a failed handshake with the Display. I tried restarting my Phone, the system, the module, and connecting to a different system (whose wiring and connections are known to be good) and received the same message every time I tried to connect. I also tried to connect via IQANrun, and received the same error, though it tried to connect for considerable longer. I'm not sure if there is a way to revert firmware on the G12, but this was all working two days ago.

Leighton, I had a similar experience recently. I think Parker is working on this, but I have two different options that seemed to help us.
1. In your IQAN program, make sure the G12 is enabled.
2. You can send an older firmware update back to the gateway and it will go back to normal via IQAN Go.
This is the firmware file I've been sending that seems to work.

1. I have enabled the G12, thinking it might be another password issue, but this did not help.
2. And my main issue is that the modem won't allow a connection to be made in the first place, I haven't been able to regain access to the gateway since the firmware update
Leighton,
I did have to set up an new MC43 on my desk with some quick dummy software; I wasn't able to reflash the gateway on the actual machine.
Once the gateway we reloaded with the older firmware, then I was able to re-install it on the machine.
I don't know why, I'm just letting you know how I did it.
For the downgrade workaround to function, it must be possible to establish the connection. That's why you had to do it on the bench.
The planned update will not have this limitation.
I just set up a dummy program with a MC43FS in IQAN 7.04, attempted to connect to the Gateway again, and got the same error message except now saying the MC43FS failed the handshake
The only thing that looks different than mine was I created the dummy program in IQAN 6.08. I doubt the software version has anything to do with it, just mentioning it.
There is a problem with using G12 FW 2.0.1.6 in systems where the G1x is not enabled.
It works when G1x is enabled, or when the system is running 7.05.
A G12 firmware is planned.
This will come with an IQANgo/IQANrun update that makes it possible to update FW also in systems where connection now fails.
Figured it out, Thanks guys. The G1x not only has to be enabled, but the 'allow remote connection' option in Security needs to be set to Always, as the ask user option wasn't being given time to show up before the connection was failing. I was able to push the IDW file Zack posted above once connection was established.
The updated versions to fix the problem is now released.
