Dynamic Camera Control

With all of the IP cameras that are ISO controlled,  It would be nice to be able to use these cameras like the OEM's (Ford/Dodge/GM) are doing with these camera system.  They give you an option to Zoom in on certain things. 

Cargo Camera,  Allows you to zoom in on your goose neck ball
Rear Camera Allows you to zoom in on the trailer hitch. 
Side Camera, Allows you to zoom in on your rear tire so you don't hit a curb. 

These cameras have larger resolution then the displays have.   
Would it be possible to add some camera features to do these type of things above.   

We can already set the width and height and resolution of the camera,  but there is no way to tell the system what part of the camera feed we want to see. 

Like I want to zoom to just these area of the camera.
