Machine ID not showing when connecting by Bluetooth (IQANGo)

Dániel Novák 3 weeks ago in IQANgo updated 3 weeks ago 4

When connecting with IQANGo (or using remote assistance) by Bluetooth, the Machine ID is not showig in the machine list below "Select a machine..." menu. Only "Unknown", or "IQAN-G12" and a hexadecimal(?) code is showing for all machines. When there are multiple machines within Bluetooth range, this is very annoying. The Machine ID is only shown after tapping connect button. Same situation before/after pairing, or connecting to the same machine again. MD4-7 / MC43FS multi master system, IQAN G12 BT module.

Changed topic from bug to question; there are situations where not seeing the Machine ID is expected.

Do you have the G1x module in the system layout?

If you do have the G1x module in the system layout, is it enabled?

Do you power up the G12 at the same time as the master module?

If all those conditions are met, there might be a problem. In that case, what software versions are you running?

Hello Gustav,

All three conditions are met.

Current versions: Design: 7.05.27.10982, Run: 7.05.32.7677, Go: 7.05.54, BT firmware: 2.01.8.53

We use this system and remote assistance service on 200+ machines. The only problem is this "Unknown" label before connecting. After tapping connect button, the MachID is shown correctly in the system menu.

The symptom was the same with older Design/Run/Go versions (we use them from 7.01 for this system) and the old BT firmware.

Anyway, the BT connection is stable, and since the 2 Dec 2025 updates, we are able to update the system via G12 and IQANgo remote assistance. A big thanks for this update!

The only problem is this annoying "Unknown" label before connecting.

Daniel

Thanks.

When you have connected once to a system, do you see the Machine ID in the list next time you connect from the same phone to the same system?
