IQANrun does not limit output to minimum value when field is selected

Jacob Phillips 3 weeks ago in IQANrun updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 1 day ago 4

IQANrun does not limit output to minimum value when field is selected. When selecting a COUT to adjust the minimum, it states that the output is being limited to the minimum value, yet it is not limited. We have found a workaround by pressing "+" or "-" to change the set value first, then it will hold the minimum with full joystick throw. Previous versions did not have this problem. Up until we found this workaround, it became extremely difficult to set minimums properly. The only way was to use the maximum field to figure out the minimum, then copy it into the minimum field.

What versions are you comparing?

There was a change in IQANrun 5.00 to avoid automatically selecting min current when entering the adjust item.

IQANrun 7 (7.05). We first noticed this issue about 7 months ago and it was the same with both 7.04 and 7.05. It also does the same with IQANgo.

The program states "output limited to the minimum value" or something along those lines, but it's not limited. Not only does it make it hard to set the minimum value, it's a safety concern because the machine can go at full output unexpectedly.

I'm surprised nobody else is having this issue?

Notice how the up direction is set to 618 mA for the minimum, yet the output is running at 1050 mA. It is not being limited like it says it is unless you first make an adjustment to the value. This is our workaround now. It never used to be like this.

Traced it back to IQANrun 7.03.

In 7.03 to 7.06 selecting the min parameter field in the IQANrun adjust menu does not initiate adjustment, as you describe it is only locked to min current when actually changing the parameter.

I think the previous behavior is preferred.
