'Send Project' and 'Get Clone' takes very long in Multi Master System

Ricardo S 3 weeks ago in IQANrun updated 3 weeks ago 3

When sending Software to our Multi Master System or getting Clones, we have to wait multiple minutes. (System: MD5-5, MC41FS, MC43FS with XC43)
Our Previous Systems (MD4-7, 2x XA2, 2x XS2) was able to send, update and get software in less then a minute.

When Getting a Clone it is displayed, that the application is being downloaded with only 45 kbps. Later, when getting firmware resources the speed goes up, above 1600 kbps.

Is this a Software Issue or are we working with incorrect Settings?

Connection Type: Ethernet
OS: Windows 11
SW: IQAN Run 7.06 and older, IQAN Design 7.06 and older

I think a some important details are left out that could help find the issue. Is your ethernet connected to the MD5 or the MC43FS and what is the topology of your CAN connections between the modules? Also, are you sharing your diagnostic bus with any non-iQAN components?

Well that might be the issue. You used to have a quick ethernet connection to the only master on the system, now if you have one for programming, and only have CAN connections between each of the masters otherwise, it doesn't matter that you are going over ethernet cause you're throttled by the inter-master CAN speed.

Our Ethernet is connected to the MD5, the other modules are connected via the Masterbus (250 kbps). I understand that communication with those modules is limited by the CAN, yet it should be allot faster than the 45 kbps.

Also we only have Parker Modules connected to CAN A. The J1939 "Datenaustausch" is only a CAN interface for sending Data between the Mastermodules and should not be active during Sending and Receiving.
However I created a SW version, that does not communicate over CAN-A, besides Parker bus communication, and the results are the same.

Receiving a Clone takes about 5 min in both cases. With speeds of about 45 kbps from MC43FS/MC41FS and above 10.000 kbps with the MD5.

Sending SW over IQAN Run takes up to 1.25 min with speeds of about 130 kbps for MC43FS/MC41FS and above 11.000 kbps.

Sending SW over IQAN Design  takes just above 2 min, here no speeds are shown while uploading.

Where does this speed difference come from? Especially with the MC43FS/MC41FS and the difference between IQAN Run/IQAN Design.
