Simulating G12 Network State

Is it possible to allow Network State in the G12 Module Diagnostic Channel to be overridden in simulation? Could this be implemented in a future version?

I always see "offline" as I don't have the hardware connected. It would be very useful to be able to set the other states to aid simulation and testing.
