MC2 controller red led flashes rapidly

Hi 

We have a MC2 controller that works normally for some time then it stops.  It works again after power cycling it.  The led flashes in a pattern not in the instruction book.  It just flasher red very rapidly.  Any idea on what the cause can be?

In versions 1.x and 2.x, the fast red flash MC2 was the blink code for "safe crash state". It means internal error detection has found a problem and stopped the application, but with these versions the blink code does not hold any additional information.  

From version 3.00 and later, the MC2 instead show four red flashes followed by a longer sequence of yellow flashes.
