G12 No contact at diagnostic bus speed of 500/2000kbps
I am trying to change the speed on the diagnostic bus between an MD5-8 screen and a G12, but it only works at speeds of 250 or 500 kbps.
At speeds of 500/2000 kbps, I get the error message ‘No contact G1x’.
According to the G12 instructions, it should be able to support this speed.

I edited the title and changed from "G12 does not support a diagnostic bus speed of 500/2000kbps" to
"G12 No contact at diagnostic bus speed of 500/2000kbps"
The G12 support diagnostics bus speed 500/2000, from master module SW version 7.05 and G12 FW 2.01.
Some things to check:
Where do you see the error message? Is it as a popup message on the MD5?
What exact software version are you running in the MD5? (E.g., 7.05.27)
What exact software version are you running in the G12? (E.g., 2.01.8)
Are there any other CAN modules on the bus with the MD5 and the G12? In that case, do these support FD?
Thank you for your attention.
The message that appears is a pop-up message in the MD5.
The software I am using in the MD5 is: 7.05.27.10981.
The software I am using in the G12 is: 2.01.8.53.
Only the G12 is connected to the CAN; there are no other modules.
The message appears when I connect the G12 via Bluetooth to Igan-go.
At speeds of 250 or 500, it connects properly with Iqan-go.
Thank you for the detailed information.
Then my guess is that there could be a physical problem with the CAN bus that shows at higher speeds.
Is the bus properly terminated with 120 resistor at each end?
I didn't remember that the G12 doesn't have internal CAN resistance; I only had the MD5 one installed. I added the resistance and now it works properly.
Thank you very much.
