XC10 PWM out Overload Danfoss PVEA

mdonaldson 5 years ago in IQANdesign updated by Rainer Vermaasen 5 years ago 6

We are trying to control a Danfoss PVEA however we constantly get a overload fault for the output. We are using a PWM out from an XC10. Reading some other posts I have seen "Trying to command a current below the specified 100 mA limit can trigger either open or overload, as an effect of the regulator becoming unstable."

Given the input impedance Am I fighting a losing battle here?

I have had application experience whereby IQAN controls PVHC and PVED(CAN-J1939) very well.  The PVED CAN library is easy to develop and supports DM1 error handling for each section. The application team advised me to steer clear of PVEA as the IQAN drivers are not designed to work with such a small load.

would you be willing to share info on driving PVED j1939 valves via Iqan

thank you

Thank you for the fast feedback. We did manage to get it working by throwing a resistor in parallel.

Hello Jack, yes I would be willing to share some information.

It works with a resistor R = 1K (1W) between PWM output and ground.
PWM parameters:
min MR: 18
Max. MR: 72
PWM frequency: 333 Hz

@ Nick

would you be willing to share info on driving PVED j1939 valves via Iqan with me too?
