For external device interfacing could we add a .dbc file export function ? - I am thinking about a .dbc file generation tool being added to IQAN design.
Nick is right:
Engine + transmission manufactures do not stick to the J1939 standards and inventing their own personalise PGNs
So way create the possibility to extract the CANdata base of IQANdesign into .dbs or excel file.
Add the new exotic PGN in excel and upload the “Bigger version of CANdata base into IQANdesign.
A function for exporting the IQANdesign channel to a DBC as Nick suggest would be a nice addition.
But for licensing reasons, we can't really make a function for exporting the SAE J1939 database that is embedded within IQANdesign.
I think the best way to work is to have DBC for the manufacturer proprietary PGN:s, and use the built-in database for the standard PGN:s.
DBC export added in 6.02
