IQAN G3 Modem service interruption

Domenico 5 years ago in Gateways / G2/G3 updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 5 years ago 1

We installed a G3 modem (with SIM Parker installed) on a customer's machine and we activated the Proemion service as in all other cases. All worked well for about a year; suddenly the service was interrupted, and Proemion warned us that there is no "data plan" for the embedded SIM, inviting us to choose a suitable one. It is not clear to us why the modem worked for a year without a specific "data plan" for the SIM and then suddenly it was blocked. Was there any error in the initial modem settings? In the software there configuration of the modem (through IqanRun) maybe we missed something?

Thank you.

The G3 modem comes equipped with a PCB mounted SIM card that is activated through Proemion.

It also has a slot for a separate SIM card, that a user could utilize in case they want to fit their own SIM instead.

If the PCB mounted SIM is used, the bill for the data traffic is included on the bill from Proemion.

When activating the modem on the web portal ( https://parker.proemion.com ), there is an option to select the data plan for using the PCB mounted SIM.

As far as I am aware, there isn't any way to change the data plan via the normal web portal after the initial selection, so in case you need to make a change afterwards, the customer support at Proemion will have to help out.
