MC43 RTC

Does the MC43 have a Real Time Clock? Does it need one?

No, the MC43 does not have any RTC.

A standalone MC43 will show number of starts instead of Date, and time since startup instead of time-of-day.

This is how it looks in the system info in IQANrun:

The main purpose of this is for the logs, where a single master MC43 will show start count and time since startup as time-stamp for the log entries.

In a multi-master system that has a master with an RTC, e.g. the IQAN-MD4, the clocks are synchronized at startup, and the MC43 will automatically get date and time from the MD4.

There you will see date and time in the logs.

In the case of a No contact with the MD4 master module that has the RTC at startup, the MC43 will fall back using start count and time since startup.
