Connect to an IQAN system using WiFi

Wireless connection is possible to achieve when there is a master with Ethernet in the system, for example an MD4. You can use virtually any Ethernet-to-WiFi adapter. Connect the master's diagnostic Ethernet port to one of the Ethernet ports on the WiFi adapter, and configure the adapter the way you want it. There are several scenarios for the WiFi configuration, here are some typical examples:

  • Infrastructure
Configure the adapter to connect to the same WiFi network as your PC or tablet is connected to. This setup is good to use when there is an existing WiFi network where the machine operates.
  • Access point
Configure the adapter to act as an access point. Connect your PC or tablet to that access point. This setup is good to use when there is no WiFi network where the machine operates.
  • Ad hoc
Configure the adapter to be in ad hoc mode. Connect your PC or tablet to the adapter. This setup is good to use when there is no WiFi network where the machine operates.

Note

It is important that your PC or tablet has an IP address in the same sub-net as your master module. The master's IP address can be found in the menu system under Info > Modules.
