Passwords not stored in database

Evert-Jan 1 year ago in IQANdesign updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 1 year ago 5

When I enter the password, and select YES when asked to add password to datebase, password is not stored.

Everytime when I open the project(s) I have to enter the password again. Also for older project.

I recently update IQANdesign to  6.08.28.8214

Thanks Gustav, I don't use any strange characters in my psw. Can you tell me in which file the passwords are stored? Maybe it's on on network place where a don't have write rights.

Safe passwords are stored in the Windows registry for current user.

So as long as you are logged in as the same user, you should have access.

When adding a password, a new subkey is created.

I think it would be unusual, but maybe your IT department has applied special access restrictions on this.

Another thought, are you getting the "Add password dialog" ?

This has a "never ask this again" checkbox.

If you are not seeing this dialog, you can reactive it via Tools - Options - Show again

Sorry, just realized the original post says you do get the question about saving the password.

Then the only thing I can think of is if your IT department has implemented some unusual restrictions on adding subkeys in the windows registry.
