No uniCAN handle
I'm getting this error when downloading to MD5:

Trying to download software using NI 8473 but seems to error before even establishing connection with the display. I noticed the MD5 does not have built in resistor and I have not installed one as yet, could this affect the download from PC?

Thank you for including information about the CAN adapter, that makes it clear what the issue is. It is not related to the new module, but to version 7 being used with an old CAN adapter.
The old NI USB-8473 only works up to version 6 due to only having 32-bit drivers.
See compatibility info IQANdesign 7 released / Software / IQAN
Ok thanks, my NI adaptor will be laid to rest now!
Interestingly I was pretty sure I was unable to load software into the controller direct from IQAN Design using Kvaser either (pretty sure I had the same message), but after using Kvaser adaptor and loading via IQAN Run, comms through IQAN Design now works as expected. Not sure if it was because it was a fresh module, maybe I got muddled up somewhere.
I had the same issue the other day using a Peak Can adapter on a MC41 with IQAN Design 7.05 loaded.
My Peak adapter worked perfectly but my customer is having "uniCAN Handle" errors.
I have had my adapter for a few years and when he asked me which adapter to purchase I recommended the Peak Adapter. I use
We loaded the latest firmware and the unit can read bus traffic using PeAK-Can software. But when he trys to connect to the MC41 either in IQAN-Design or Run he gets the UniCan error.
I can use his adapter on my computer and it works fine. The only difference is that his Peak firmware is newer than mine.
Interestingly, his adapter connects to the module using IQAN 6.08, (it can't complete the download due to the module having a IQAN 7 program but it does connect without the uniCAN error).
The Peak unit we both are using is PCAN-USB FD with USB-A connector (IPEH-004022).
Can you suggest a fix?
Have they installed the 64 bit driver? https://www.peak-system.com/support/downloads/drivers/
Yes we installed it and reinstalled it today confirming it was 64bit and we selected the API file as well.
As mentioned earlier it reads CAN traffic on the engine bus but the error persists on with IQAN 7.05.
I ran into a ton of trouble with the initial push of a program to a blank module with the Kvaser leaf light v2, Programs would take in excess of 25 hours to push through, as soon as a program was on a module though, there were no issues whatsoever and speeds were normal. We changed to an Ixxat V2 compact and have had no troubles at all.
