CAN bus joysticks

Is there any example or documentation to read regarding how to use joysticks with can interface? And what to think about to get it safe and smooth. Thanks.

All examples I have for safe use of joystick signals are made for analog joysticks such as LST, LSL, LC5-05 and LC6. 

For example: Using dual crossed signals / Knowledge base / IQAN


For a CAN bus joystick, it should have a SIL or PL rating and come with a safety manual that describe how to use it. 

Easiest way to integrate a safety rated joystick into an IQAN system is if it supports the J1939-76 protocol.
