is there a real time clock input on the MC43? I cant find one in the manual.

Yes with J1939 you can connect a realtime clock as a module or from another IQAN product, see recent discussion in software part of the forum.

There is no RTC component in the MC4 to keep time, but as Pierre wrote it will get time/date from the IQAN-MD4, or you could get it from J1939.
