backlight in multi display setup

Ed Schippers 10 years ago in IQANdesign updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 10 years ago 1
Multi display setup, MD4-7” (master) and MD4-5” (non touch) I want the backlight of the 5” display to match the 7” It would be nice if this could be done by using the backlight setting of the master by means of a system information output or an option in the backlight control setting of the other display to bind it to the setting of the master. Instead of an extra adjustable parameter.

Hello forum users,
I would think to use weather station for a mobil project by IQAN. Weather station use NMEA 2000 communication protocols. So I did internet research. The NMEA 2000 protocol is based on the j1939 higher layer protocol. Can I use iqan module for NMEA 2000 protocol ?

J1939 Error - Caterpillar ECM

Luke Ricker 10 years ago in IQANdesign updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 3 years ago 12
IQAN 3.18. MD4.
Communication with Caterpillar ECM over J1939.

When the machine control system is first powered up, and the engine is not running, the System Log logs several J1939 events related to a couple of PGNs.
Has anyone else seen this before?
I don't believe it is the PGN timeout, as there are several ECM PGNs with timeouts that don't log errors.
Anyone have any idea what "J1939 Error" Means?

Thanks!

As you can see, there are five J1939 errors that consistently show up on power cycle.

One of them is Engine Oil Pressure. Here is the PGN:

MD4 Graphics Options

Richard Staite 10 years ago in IQANdesign updated by Ulrik Zakariasson (Software development) 9 years ago 4
It would be nice to have the option of changing the Text size within Text Buttons and also change the height and colourings of the button area.
Another nice option would be to be able to fill in areas bounded by lines with blocks of colour which could be selectable by another channel. I know that this is possible by creating colour images and then imputing them but this would be a much easier method.
Another thing which we seem to get requests for regularly is the ability to graph items on screen. I have asked whether this might be possible before but up til now this functionality has always been too video processor hungry - I wonder if the new spec of the MD4 might now be able to cope with it?

Visual compare tool

The ability to compare project file with a visual tool would be nice.
Because for big project the text files compare is difficult to use.

application input output vs j1939 input output for master modules

Zach 10 years ago in IQANdesign updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 5 years ago 5
I wondered about application inputs and outputs vs j1939 inputs and outputs for master module communication.
If I understood it correctly, an MC2 master received a digital value from an MD4 master module via an application in/out pair.
Then in another location in the program, the MD3 and MD4 exchanged information through J1939 pgns.

How do I know when to use Application in/out or J1939 in/out?

360° Rotation of Gauges

John Wambold 9 years ago in IQANdesign updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 6 years ago 7

I have an application where I am using a gauge to display the position of a rotating object. I make the 12 o'clock position the 0° point. I noticed that as my input is rotating from clockwise, that the needle on the gauge rotates counter clockwise from 359° back to 0°.

It would be nice to have the gauge continue to rotate in a clockwise direction as my input crosses the 0° threshold.
