How to get text over images in IQAN Design 2.63?

Doug Coutlee 11 years ago in IQANdesign updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 11 years ago 3
I am using IQAN Design 2.63 and I am trying to figure out how to get text to show up on top of images on the screen. No matter how I have the order set in the "Set Order" window, text always hides behind images.

Automatic entry of State machine labels when used as module input

Jean-Marc Zanni 11 years ago in IQANdesign updated 11 years ago 3
When a state machine or state parameter is defined as a module input you have to manually add all the states. It would be nice if we could at least automatically import them from the previous layer. Would save tons of programming time.
I can understand that someone may want the ability to have different description for each state, but it is pain fully slow to re-create each states.

Showing a "PDF Loading" Message or Some Indication on MD4

Daniel Grant 10 years ago in IQANdesign updated by Ulrik Zakariasson (Software development) 10 years ago 2

Our customer is impressed by the PDF capability, but wants some way to see that the PDF is loading.

I want to have my "User Manual" button to do one of the following things:
  1. Have the button stay in a pressed state until the PDF loads up.
  2. Use a separate VDIN that commands the PDF to open up.
  3. Show a message indicating that it is loading.
Any help would be very appreciated!

Just new to the Forum It is wonderful full of good ideas. I would simply suggest that for the newbies like me a Next/Previous feature when you are reading a topic would make the navigation very useful. unless I missed it.

BSOD on MD4

Michael Carlyle 11 years ago updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 10 years ago 5
We are having trouble with Blue Screen Problems with Iqan MD4 when running 3.16 and higher (ever since the cycle time was allowed to be lowered below 25 ms). Running the cycle time higher decreases the occurrence rate. They occur mostly at startup so it is impossible to graph the system utilization.

It did not seem to happen in 3.14.

I have tried updating to 3.18 as there seemed to be some fixes for Blue screen problems but it is still happening.

XC10 output high in software but low directly on module

Kevin 10 years ago in IQANdesign updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 10 years ago 7

We experienced a similar issue with output energisation that was corrected in 3.16 but this is slightly different.

System is 1 MD4 with XC10 as expansion, 1 MC3 and 1 MC3 with XC10 expansion. We have logic that switches a single DOUT on XC10 expansion connected to MD4. This logic is handled in MD4 application. With a delay on of 500ms or less the output on XC10 remains low on module (tested using multimeter) but IQAN design when connected says high.

If I increase delay on to 1000ms the output switches on and voltage present on XC10 module using multimeter.

Its almost as if the MD4 is sending a command to energise output before XC10 has booted?

I have rigged up single MD4 and XC10 on the bench but been unable to replicate, perhaps cycle time of the software could be the issue? Running IQAN Design 3.19.

Trial License - what does it permit and prevent - document this

David Holcomb 11 years ago updated by Forrest 4 years ago 3
we have customers regularly questioning exactly what they can and cannot do with the trial license.

During installation, it mentions connection only with simulator, etc. This is very clear and defined , but only available during installation. If this could be added to the manual or a separate document this would let us have a standard answer for customers.
Answer
In 3.17, (to be released next week), the 30 day limit is removed. You can use the tools without a license as long as you like. The functional limitations are still there though, the tools are limited to simulation only.

Cycle time effects timer counting 3.18

Kevin 10 years ago in IQANsimulate updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 9 years ago 5
I have an application (1 MC3) that uses a timer which seems to count 10000 ms correctly with real time when the cycle time is set to 50ms. This is how I would expect it to behave.

When I reduce the cycle time of the application down to 5ms the time taken to get to 10000ms in the MC3 application takes approx. 20000ms in real time. Its almost as if the timer counting has slowed down when I reduce the cycle time.

I have tried as a new application file with simply just a timer counter in and no other logic as I wondered if I was approaching the processing limit but the inaccuracy still appears present?

I haven't tried previous versions of software and been unable to test in a real application so I can only assume this could be an issue with simulate and not IQAN Design?
