With the advent of arrays, are there plans to do higher level math functions like matrix algebra?

Joe 8 years ago in IQANdesign updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 3 years ago 6

I want to do matrix multiplication. Any plans for this in the future?

Finite State Machines - Delayed transitions

Rick 8 years ago in IQANdesign updated by Ulrik Zakariasson (Software development) 8 years ago 4

Just an idea: how about adding a delayOn property for FSM transition lines?

I'm a fan of the FSM component, as it cleans up the pages, and can be explained to non-programmers, showing how stuff globally works.

But since we're using delays often ("hold button for a second", ...), I still end up having a lot of additional IDC blocks.

IQANdesign 4.02 released

Gustav Widén (System support) 9 years ago in IQANdesign updated by Frank GUO 9 years ago 1

Highlighted features

IQAN-SV camera

Image 343

Support IQAN-SV camera on both C3 and C4 is implemented.

Now it is possible to connect an IQAN-SV camera also on the IQAN-MD4 C3 connector. For applications with two cameras, this eliminates the need for using an Ethernet switch.

Cropping to smaller size

Default Width and Height on the video control is the selected video feed dimensions, now smaller dimensions can be selected too. The camera feed will be centered in video control when cropped.

Image 342

Automatically use single camera, If one and only one IQAN-SV camera exists in the application, the first camera discovered will be used.

This eliminates the need for having to selecting the camera in the MD4 menu system when o

Support for multiple video controls per camera is implemented. There is still a limitation of maximum one video control per IQAN-SCcamera per display page, meaning that it is not possible to show e.g. two different sizes of video feed from the same camera on the same page.

Add option to keep function inspector open

With 4.00, the function inspector was automatically minimized when selecting channels without function, now there is a pin icon/button in the function inspector to keep it open all the time.

IQAN-MD4 PDF reader

Indicate when dialog box is active in PDF reader

Image 345

Added visual feedback to PDF reader when a dialog message is active. The exit button in the upper right corner will be permanently shown with a flashing red background.

Show a "PDF Loading" message

Implemented.

Important problems solved

It is recommended to update IQAN-MD4 applications to 4.02, two problems that exists in earlier versions have been solved:

MD4 blue-screen or freeze on splash screen at startup This could happen intermittently during startup in some applications.

MD4: Bluescreen with message touchdriver has HB WARNING HIGH

This could happen intermittently in runtime, stopping the application.

For all master modules, this release also solves two issues with logs that exist in 4.00 and 4.01:

Incorrect values in statistics log Statistics log items could be reset to zero at startup.

Inputs on expansion module were logged as "Not evaluated" upon startup. This happended e.g. on VIN, in applications where the expansion module enable was not controlled by a channel.

IQANdesign 3.15 released

Gustav Widén (System support) 10 years ago in IQANdesign updated by Omer Kakel 10 years ago 0
IQANdesign 3.15 is now released.

Highlighted features in this release:

9673 Make identifier on GFIN dynamic
An integer channel can now be selected to control the identifier dynamically on a GFIN channel.
Identifier can be calculated and changed in runtime, could be useful e.g. for experimental purposes or if the identifiers are not known when the IQANdesign application is created and needs to be adjustable via e.g.IQANrun. It is not recommended to change this in runtime though, as you could loose messages.

19815 System info to tell if menu system is entered
The system info channel (SIC) now has a new value that will tell whether the display is currently in menu mode or not.

As an example, this will be useful togheter with the Active display page if you are using an encoder to control the display pages of an MD4.

21290 MC31: Add DOUT diagnostics
Now possible to use the digital outputs in pairs (HS+LS). Added properties for under current detection when used as pairs.

The IQAN-MC31 now has options for how to configure the DOUT. Either like the DOUT:s are configured on the MC3, with a cobination of a highside and lowside switch. With this method,  the DOUT diagnostic features from the MC3 become available on the MC31. Or use it as separate highside and lowside switches, without the diagnostic features.
Image 38

22541 Multi master: Add property for J1939 start address on diagnostics bus
A new property is now added on the diagnostics bus that allows you to set the start address to something else than 128.

Useful if there are other J1939 modules on the multi-master diagnostics bus.

22969 XC10: Add DOUT diagnostics
Added new properties for open load detection on all digital outputs, and under current detection on digital outputs Q - T and all PWM outputs.
Note: Requires XC10 to have software version 1.06 or newer.
The expansion module XC10 is about to get upgraded to a new firmware version that supports reporting of faults on the DOUT:s. The IQANdesign support for these new XC10 features is in this version, but it also requires an updated XC10. The XC10 with this new firmware will be released later this year.

23168 Add support for MD3-M15
Later this year, an new hardware version of the MD3 with a different screen will be replacing the exisiting MD3. Software support for this MD3-M15 is included in this release. For users of the IQAN-MD3, it is recommended to upgrade already now.
For users of the IQAN-MD3 who has not yet updated to 3.x, there will be an IQANdesign 2.62 release also as an alternative.

Bug fixes

The release includes several bug fixes. For users of the IQAN-MC3, one that is of importances is:
23802 IQAN-MC3: Disrupted firmware update can corrupt the unit
When updating the IQAN-MC3 SW version (by sending a file created in a different IQANdesign version), the reprogramming of the unit must not be disrupted by switching off power during the update. In some cases this can corrupt the unit, the symptom is that it becomes non-responsive and does not show any blink code. After upgrade to this or later versions, this risk of corrupting the unit is gone.

This version update will also be introduced in production.

IQANconnect service

Frederick Prigge 9 years ago in IQANdesign updated by Ulrik Zakariasson (Software development) 8 years ago 6

Hi, release 4 of your dev environment adds IQAN connect as a communication service. This is very interesting as an alternative to Proemion. Where can I find more info on this service (how to register, cost, etc)?

Thanks!

Synchronis time with NMEA GPS

Florent Mirieu de Labarre 9 years ago in IQANdesign updated by Ville Karlsson 3 years ago 1

Hi

I use a GPS (GARMIN 1020xs) on my product, for this function http://forum.iqan.se/topic/1063339-backlight-auto-adjuste/ I need to know the real time. By using the NMEA (= Canbus), I can read the GPS time, but it is impossible to change the time of IQAN master.

What do you think about this function ?

PS : there are a time synchronisation with the modem ? (cellular operation give time to a cellphone).

Is there any way to force outputs in diagnostics mode?.
It is very useful to trace step by step when a problem appears.

Ability to change logic function block quickly by drop down box?

Kevin 10 years ago in IQANdesign updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 3 years ago 6

Would it be possible to add an extra drop down box to easily switch the logic block type? When sending safety signals between modules, I often copy and paste the APP OUT into the new module so i know what names I have used as the property name. This saves time when switching back to the other module application to see what the names are.

It would be much easier if I could copy the APP OUT and simply change them all to APP IN rather than having to create new APP IN's and insert the names into each one?

Could have a drop down box on every logic block type to change to any type of function? whether it be I/O / calculation / misc / interface etc?

Passive State Machine - New channel type request

Nick Pridham 10 years ago in IQANdesign updated by Ulrik Zakariasson (Software development) 9 years ago 11
I would like to have a SMC channel but without automatic priority ordering.  This means jump conditions can trigger, the state machine changes state and then remains in that state until jump conditions relating to that state trigger.

Need a store value for this function too.
