joystick with double functions

christophe 8 years ago in IQANdesign updated by Ulrik Zakariasson (Software development) 8 years ago 4

Hello,

i want to use the standard lc6 joystick for multiple functions.
Example:

If i want to adjust the cilinders on the left side of the blade, i press the rocker ( proportional ) down, then press forwards for the '1 left' function and then i move the joystick left or right to open or close the '1 left' function.

Witch function is the advise to use? the Q code could be an option i assume.

Thanks,

Kind Regards Christophe

disabling redundant J1939 joysticks?

Forrest 8 years ago in IQANdesign updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 8 years ago 3

I use J1939 joysticks. In the past, each joystick required a dedicated program. This time around I am trying to cover all current and expected joystick options, then enable the correct one(s) in the settings.

It sort of works, but I still get errors on start-up saying the disabled ones are not connected.

I am using Design 4.04, and the C CAN network on an MD3 module for the joystick(s) and a J1939 switch-pad. I have the module enable with an IDC driven by an adjustment group setting and the software functional group enabled by the same IDC.

MD3/IQAN Design Hour Meter Count Storeage

Mitch Houle 8 years ago in IQANdesign updated by Ulrik Zakariasson (Software development) 8 years ago 1

I ran into this issue a couple times where we have needed to switch out an MD3 for various reasons. We display an hour meter on the screen but the hours are lost durring the replacement. Does anyone know how a way to store it that it won't be lost durring a switch out to a new module, even if it is use a digital hourmeter and pull the info from it?

IQAN DESIGN ISSUE 4.06 GROUP CANNOT MEASURE OR SIMULATE

jesse kilde 8 years ago in IQANdesign updated by Ulrik Zakariasson (Software development) 8 years ago 1

In one of my groups I have a lot of I/O and when i go to simulate or measure when running the machine it gives me an error (measure terminated: request rejected by master module. (too many items are requested at the same time.)) This is becoming an issue because the diagnostics i need to see are in this group. i can make a diagnostics page but there would be over 100 items on it. is there any way to change how much data the master can transmit.

Compensate hysteresis of Hydraulic valve in IQAN?

Niklas 8 years ago in IQANdesign updated by Ulrik Zakariasson (Software development) 8 years ago 2

Hello,

Is there a easy way to compensate hysteresis of a hydraulic directional control valve with IQAN. Example: we need 50mA more to increase flow to a certain level than decreasing down to it from a higher standpoint.

Waking up MD4 on its own

LPC 8 years ago in IQANdesign updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 8 years ago 3

Is it possible to set a wake-up time on the MD4? I would like to power it on at certain date and time instead of leaving it on all the time. Is there a way to add this feature? Or should I consider leaving it always on? Basically, I want to start some procedure at a chosen time, but I also don't want to drain the batteries on my vehicle.

Thank you

RTSP stream via VLC to generic camera

M Donaldson 8 years ago in IQANdesign updated by Ulrik Zakariasson (Software development) 8 years ago 2

Has anyone tried, or had success with using VLC's RTSP stream to work with a generic camera device in IQAN?

I tried a handful of settings but I couldn't get it working. Once thing I did notice in wireshark is the display was attempting to open a TCP connection with my PC (VLC stream server) on port 554 but I was under the impression that RTSP was UDP ?

I am very new to this software environment so I am just tinkering around. Its not something that needs to work, but why not right ?! :)

With the exception of the properties panel I can't seem to dig up any more information to help me out here.

Any advice or experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Answer

RTSP is a TCP protocol that is used to control the video stream. The video stream itself is then sent using the RTP protocol which is a UDP protocol. So in order for the streaming to work via VLC you need to enable an RTSP server in VLC in addition to the RTP streaming (not sure if this is supported).
