Custom Measure Group Colours in Run

Dave R 2 years ago in IQANrun updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 1 year ago 6

I have a measure group in my program that uses custom colors for the channels. The colours are setup as System colors. When I take a measure of the group in Iqan Run the channels are all set to black for the colour.

Reliability - Stored value in Array Channel

Sigurd Olav 2 years ago in IQANdesign updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 2 years ago 3

Hi,

How safe is the "store value" function in array channel?

is it safe to save functional data in these array channels, and trust that the data on these will not disapear or be corrupted? If there is something wrong with the data, will there be an error in the logg ?

I am using the array channel to calibrate a prop valve, but i need to trust that the saved values does not disapear.

Automatically selecting multiple items on display page?

Kevin 2 years ago in IQANdesign updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 2 years ago 1

IQAN Design 5.08.

When selecting a item (text for example) on md3 screen in IQAN design, clicking a different object deselects the original and selects the one just clicked.

When selecting an item on screen, followed by a button, then another item, multiple on screen items have been selected without holding control key. I get 'indeterminate' in the property tree on RH side which is how i know its happened as only one text or lamp item is shown as selected on the display page. Appears to happen on all MD3 buttons, not sure if its a bug but can be annoying when designing layouts and configuring buttons? Seems to be inconsistent sometimes, some pages do it, others don't.

Error resolving Address connect.iqan.se

Tim Reen 2 years ago in IQANconnect updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 2 years ago 6

Hello IQAN Team,

We have been having an ongoing issue when trying to connect to IQAN systems using IQAN connect remote assistance and G11 / G12. When the user attempts to connect to the G1x for remote assistance using their smart phone the following error is displayed:

Error resolving Address connect.iqan.se:

nodename nor servname provided, or not known (8)

Image 3302

If the user is able to connect their smart phone to a WiFi connection the error is not displayed and remote assistance is possible. The user can even get a shared WiFi connection using a personal hotspot and remote assistance is possible. It seems like a 3G or 4G cellular connection directly from the device with IQANgo is the problem somehow. This problem is occurring in Australia on multiple IQAN systems and smart devices.

'Enabled' function on expansion modules

Kevin 2 years ago in IQANdesign updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 2 years ago 4

When the 'enabled' function is false it will disable all channels and use error values. When using this functional can we then disconnect the bus and not get any errors? When using this function does it become effectively 'optional' and not required as part of the complete system?

We have a customer that wants a remote analogue joystick thats not always connected to the system, we have a XC21 module that will take these signals from the joystick and send them on the bus only when the bus is connected. We want to avoid non contact with XC21 module errors flagging in the system.

Display Page- Value Chopped Off at Bottom

Kerry Brock 2 years ago in IQANdesign updated 2 years ago 4

I am using two MD4-7 modules in an application and a particular value object is being "chopped off" at the bottom.

There are no other items on the display page near it to overlap. It is laying on top of a image object used for the background.

In the picture, you can see there is a flat spot on the "0" and the 7's are also chopped off.  There is no setting in the value object for height, only width, nor is there a white box for adjusting height like there is for dragging the width,  so I do not know of a way to adjust the height.  The settings are for "Large" and "Bold= Yes."  Default is also being used.  Is there a way to correct this issue? It shows identical on both MD4-7 modules.  I did copy and paste the value item from one MD4-7 to the other.

In the display page setup in IQANdesign it looks correct and also when simulating it looks correct.

Notice the bottom of the "0" is flat instead of rounding like the top of the "0."

Short Circuit Detection

Kudzanai Bhebhe 2 years ago in IQANdesign updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 2 years ago 1

Hie guys.. According to the instruction books of the MD4-7 and MC43FS modules, they both have short circuit monitoring on digital outputs and voltage inputs. Does the whole module shut down or just a part of the circuitry (digital output pin or Vin pin) is shut down in the event of a short circuit being detected

PID vs ILC

mtanguay 2 years ago in IQANdesign updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 2 years ago 1

Could someone help clarify a debate?

In what context would you choose to use a PID over a ILC or vise versa?
