Connection lost during SW update

Michael Carlyle 5 months ago in IQANdesign updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 2 months ago 9

There is definitely a repeatable problem with 7.05.  I have loaded 3 different programs with no changes other than updating to 7.05 from 7.04 and they all stopped after loading the two MD4's when it tried to load the first MC43 (we have two MD4's and 3 MC43's in all these machines).  Disconnected and no replay from the MC43.  I tried both IqanDesign 7.05 and IqanRun 7.05 with the same results.

Show a coundown timer in an IMSG

scottk 6 months ago in IQANdesign updated 6 months ago 4

I would like to show a countdown timer in an IMSG

I have a timer value via a Text Formatting Channel into the Text field of the IMSG

When running the program the value of the Text formatting channel can be seen to count down with the timer,

But the value displayed in the IMSG is only the initial value of the timer, the value does not change at all.

Can an IMSG display a changing value? If so how

Landscape or Potrait as selectable

Jag 6 months ago in IQANdesign updated by Pierre Fagrell 6 months ago 3

Hi,

We have an application which can be used on 2 different type of machines. Application logic is the same on both types of machine but the display orientation need to be in portrait mode on one type of machine and in landscape mode on another type of machine. We want to avoid having 2 versions of the same program with only difference being the display orientation in landscape or portrait mode. As you can imagine this will create software maintenance nightmare in future. Is there a way to work around this problem?

Thanks

Page order

Hello,

We wrote the functions in a controller. Does the order on the left have any significance? Does the software run in the first order?

Module IO automatically scrolls to top of page

Kevin 6 months ago in IQANdesign updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 6 months ago 1

I'm transferring information shown on the module page (all the IO) to a 2D cad program so I can draw electrical schematics simultaneously. This involves selecting an input / output in IQAN design and also hovering over it to gather information such as pin number and DIN-AC details etc. If we have scrolled down the page to get to the selected input/output to select and I move onto the cad program on a different monitor on the PC, clicking back into IQAN design window to view the next IO, it always returns to the top.

Its a bit frustrating as I then have to find where I left off, and adds some time to the task I'm carrying out. Its mainly because I loose a visual of the input I was on.

Can it remain in the same scroll position as it was when I left the window? I'm not closing IQAN design and re-opening, its still open and visible on a separate second display.

Generic CAN Paged message grouping

Greg R 6 months ago in IQANdesign updated 6 months ago 2

I have run into an issue while trying to read NMEA2000 data from 2 engines. The message uses pages to transmit data across 4 messages and has an engine instance in the first page. I cant mask for the engine instance in the last 3 pages.

It would be nice to have a multipage option like the J1939 Frame for NMEA2000 messages. If that could be combined with masking for instance value, that would solve my issue.

Unable to change visibility on multiple parameters at once

Matt 7 months ago in IQANdesign updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 7 months ago 3

I'm working on creating a display page for an MD4 which dynamically shows and hides items depending on what option is selected. I'm finding that when selecting a few parameters at once, when I go to change what IDC is making them visible, that it reverts back to indeterminate as soon as I select a different item in the properties window.

multipacket reading

MScottM 7 months ago in IQANdesign updated 7 months ago 1

I need to read an incoming proprietary multipacket message (108 bytes) on an MD4-7.  When I look at a bus capture, I can see that the data bytes of interest are in the position I expect and I can 'decode' the values and see that they are also what I expect.

When I create an incoming JFIN and designate it 'Multipacket: Yes' IQAN does not seem to see the whole message; bytes above 8 are marked 'error: out of range'.  Another thing I notice about the data in the bus capture is that the 108 data bytes are repeated while the value of the frame-count byte (byte 0) increases by counts of 16 - meaning it starts at 0-16, then jumps to 32-47 (data is repeated), then jumps to 64-79 (data is repeated) and so on up to 224-239.

Is this normal multipacket behavior?  How do I properly decode this message in IQAN?

Camera

There is information like below but we could not connect the camera. What could be wrong? We are using MD4-7 screen.
