Multi master

chris hughes 7 months ago in IQANdesign updated by Michael Carlyle 7 months ago 1

I’m attempting to operate 5 of our platforms together. Normally each platform has a single MC43FS. This project has 5 of these controllers, connected with diagnostic and master buses. If more than three controllers are powered, the headmaster fails to power its outputs. I figured that this could be due to too many application outputs. I’ve attempted to use two separate master buses but this still doesn’t seem to work. Any help would be much appreciated, this is a one off project for marketing purposes so it’s a bit out of our usual expertise.

Design statistics has different checksum from file info in windows explorer

Matt 7 months ago in IQANdesign updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 5 months ago 1

In iQAN design 6.08.32 I have noticed that the project checksum which is calculated in the project statistics window is different from the one that is displayed when I right click the .idax file in windows explorer, select properties, then file info.

Why is this?

Best practice for polling inputs in the background while doing other functions simultaneously?

Hannah 7 months ago in IQANdesign updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 6 months ago 1

Hello, I am using IQAN Design and would like to know if there is a best way to poll inputs? I will need to almost constantly read several inputs and be able to control an output if any of them are in the wrong state. This is not the main functionality of the system either, so if there is a way to do this in the background that would be helpful! Otherwise, I think I would need to have some pretty complex state machines, but maybe you have a better way of doing this! Please let me know what you think. Thanks!

Level Sensor In Display Page

Angus Reen 7 months ago in IQANdesign updated by Kerry Brock 7 months ago 1

Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone had a good solution for a visual tilt coordinate system in a master display? I am trying to translate a tilt sensor to a visual depiction of something similar to a Leveler Bubble like the photo I have attached to this thread. When editing a display page, you cannot set the coordinates of an image to an input channel, so that a bubble could rotate freely around the page depending on the angle of the head. Currently, the only solution I have been able to come to is having many bubbles on the display page, and showing/hiding them depending on the position of the head using internal digital channels. This does take some time, and can be inaccurate depending on the increments between each 'bubble' on your page. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Angus

Closing IqanDesign 7.03 via the menu opens the Iqandesign Help PDF.

If you close Iqandesign 7.03 via File > Exit it opens the help PDF.  I assume this is unintended behaviour?

XC43 random R4:3 3:1:7 fault after upgrading to Design 7.03.25

Dániel Novák 7 months ago in IQANdesign updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 6 months ago 3

After upgrading to IQANDesign 7.03.25 from 7.02.33, the XC43 module in our system shows "no contact" error, with R4:3 3:1:7 fault code blinking. The fault goes away after system restart, but randomly gets back after several restarts (cca. with 1:50 probability). Currently 2 of 15 identical systems shows the same issue. Reviewed the logs, the faults only came after the update (the machines were under tests for about 1-2 months with software made with IQAN Design 7.02.33). The firmware update to 2.02 was successful, as I see from module info.

MD4-7 - MC42FS - XC43 multimaster system.

We will tomorrow revert to IQANDesign 7.02.33. I hope the firmware reverts too from 2.02 to 2.01, as we have to deliver the machines soon.

Probable bug in XC4x 2.02 firmware?

Generic CAN frame in

nick_namsep 7 months ago in IQANdesign updated 7 months ago 0

Hello quick question because i was not able to find it in the iqan design documentation but am i right in assuming the Generic frame in channel is a "tigger" like function? What i mean is does it update when for example my sensor send back the data does it register that it has received that frame and trigger for example the parameter reading?

Hello,

I am seeking sample projects for the IQAN Design program to enhance my skills, starting from a beginner level. I would greatly appreciate any resources or examples that can support my development.

Thank you for your assistance.

It would be nice if it was possible to hide the close X button on the interactive massege.

this way the buttons must be used. and a selection must be made
