PDF file issue

Argy Tzouhas 9 years ago in IQANdesign updated by Ulrik Zakariasson (Software development) 9 years ago 3

I have been working with IQANdesign 4,01 and I am ver excited about adding the PDF files into my programme.

After loading all my PDF files and then assigning the action to the Text Labels and saving the file, the references are switched when I reopen the program. The text label that was assigned to open the Pump PDF file is now assigned to the Filter PDF and the Filter label is assigned to the Pressure sensor PDF etc...

I am not sure if I am doing something wrong or if I am doing something wrong.

Has anyone else noticed this issue?

MDL USB plug

Jon 9 years ago updated by Ulrik Zakariasson (Software development) 9 years ago 2

Does anyone have the pin out for the MDL side of the USB connection? A previous employee had de-pinned the MDL end for some "testing" purposes but never put it back together or wrote down the pin out. I have searched threw any literature I have to no avail.

Operational Log???

Zach Dockter 9 years ago in IQANrun updated 9 years ago 2

I was wondering if anyone has ever tried to create an operational "pick" log for any equipment.

I've been trying to come up with a good solution, but I am having a difficult time. Each entry is logged when the user presses a button on the screen. All of the values are based on sensors on the unit, I am just trying to figure out how to store/display the values. It also would be great if it would work as a First in First Out type of process.

CAN comunication with Cooper Bussmann mVEC

Jon 9 years ago in IQANdesign updated by Zach Dockter 9 years ago 4

I am currently working on a project that I need to control a number of high draw items. Years ago a Parker Rep had pointed me in the direction of the Cooper Bussmann mVEC power distribution module due to the CAN control capability.

I am finally getting around to working with it and am using a MD4 master module. I have basic understanding of J1939/CAN but am somewhat new to programming it on the Iqan.

Just wondering if anyone has experience with this and can help pointing me in the right direction, or maybe even has a base application they can share?

Loading program through wireless router never finishes Iqan 4.01

Michael Carlyle 9 years ago in IQANdesign updated by Ulrik Zakariasson (Software development) 9 years ago 4

We were in the field with Marcel Colnot having blue screen issues with Iqan 3.19. We decided to update the program to 4.01 and try that and the program would not finish loading through an ASUS WL-330NUL when computer was connected wirelessly to the router (it would get to the end but after restart it went to blue screen - it appeared to be looking for an IP address). We had to take out the address tag and load it with a wired connection direct to an Ethernet port on his computer. I have a suface which has no Ethernet port - I have used the wireless adapter with no problems up to 4.01.

Marcel can give you more details if necessary.

MC2 Error

Graham Walker 9 years ago updated 9 years ago 5

I have been using an MC2 as a control module for an excavator attachment. It was working fine until I added tried to add some CAN communication to send pressure sensor pressure values and joystick inputs to a Data Acquisition System. There were 9 signals. I attempted to load the file on, and at the end of the load it through an error saying something like "no return handshake from Master Module." I tried to reconnect to the system repeatedly but it would not establish a connection. I attempted to use the attachment and the MC2 was not sending out any signals.

After turning the power supply on and off and trying to reconnect unsuccessfully, I tried to read the lights. The following sequence repeated:

-2 long yellow followed by 3 short yellow. While not exact (extra long yellow), does this mean "Waiting for Restart"?

-4 Short Red followed by 1 short yellow: Internal Error

-18 short yellow - is this just the "there is something abnormal going on"?

I read this thread: http://forum.iqan.se/topics/98-mc2-cause-of-internal-errorose/ which seems to describe a similar issue. It seems like the advice is to short the ID pins and start in "safe" mode.

If the "waiting to restart" error keeps appearing even after cutting power and repowering, does that mean I need to try and start the program in "safe" mode and reload the program?

Anyone have a nice clean way to short the ID pins? Should I just put 2 clips on the end of a single wire? And what happens once I successfully reload the program? Should I cut power and then remove the shorting wire so it does not restart in "safe" mode?

It looks like there was an error in the software: I specified it try to broadcast the CAN data out over the wrong bus. The CAN data was also unconnected. In this case the information was not vital to the operation, but I am thinking this would be enough to throw an internal error and cause problems. Can someone confirm or deny that a module shut down could be due to a CAN comm error due to incorrectly spec'd bus OR unconnected CAN Comm cable?

Thank you, Graham

Time Values

Zach Dockter 9 years ago in IQANdesign updated by chuck streb 1 year ago 2

Is there a way to break up the time elements in the SIC?

For example, I need to send another J1939 module the value of the minutes, but not the hour or the seconds.

IQANdesign 3.14.18 released

Changes and new features

22588 Send J1939 identification frames
A master will now respond to broadcast request for PGN 65242 and 65259 on a J1939 bus.
  • Software Identification (65242) will contain 5 strings: Project name, version, id, checksum and vmAC version
  • Component Identification (65259) will map the following strings: Make = empty, Model = module type (e.g IQAN-MC2), Serial number = module serial number, Unit number = module address

Bug fixes

22547 Crash at startup on Windows XP
Fixed.

22555 Master crashes upon DM1 reception if no DM1 is defined
Fixed.

22574 MD4 stops working if external J1939 unit claims address 128
Fixed.

22796 Remove "No contact" alarm for APPIN time-out
Before, a single lost APPOUT would trigger a warning message and log event saying 'No contact', even if all other APPOUTs from that module was received. The 'No contact' popup and log event has been removed. No change to the APPIN timeout and action.
