Multi packet J1939 message changing priority

Jag 3 years ago in IQANdesign updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 3 years ago 9

Hi,

I am sending a multi packet J1939 message as shown below with a priority 6. I am using MC41 as master. For some reason TP packets are braodbcast the priority is being changed to 7 from 6. See snapshot of the data log showing identifier 1CECFF7F instead 18ECFF7F. As a result my request from MC41 is being ignored by the Vehicle controller.

I have manually broadcast 18ECFF7F and 18EBFF7F using Busmaster and it works OK. however when I manually transmit

1CECFF7Fand 1CEBFF7F vehicle controller ignores TP packet.

I am not sure if this is a bug or I am doing something wrong appreciate if you can point me in the right direction.

Jag

MD3 and XA2

Klaus Gottwald 3 years ago in IQANdesign updated by andyr 3 years ago 1

We are an electronic repair/service company. We have 7pcs of XA2 modules in that are faulty and need repair. I have an MD3 screen available. What version Iqan develop software do I need to write a little test application so that I can turn outputs ON and OFF to test the XA2 modules?

Please add MD3 support for IQAN 6.0+

minh lam 3 years ago in IQANdesign 0

Is there anyway to add the MD3 support for IQAN 6.0+. I see in the release notes item 49995 this was done for the XA2 and XS2 as legacy modules. We still use the MD3 in our current production but we are interested in bug fix item 50457.

Black bar in start screen

Jean-Marc Zanni 3 years ago in IQANdesign updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 3 years ago 10

According to the documentation, the system will use the top left pixel to define the background of the start-up screen.

I have a JPG image 800x182 used on an MD4-7 with white background.  When booting up the screen shows 2 large back bar above and below.  Normal?

Since this not matching the documentation I list that as a bug.

System Errors

Gord 3 years ago in IQANdesign updated by Chris Litwin 3 years ago 1

Hello,

Is it possible to forward IQAN all errors such as AI out of range, CAN bus errors, controller errors, div by zero, etc., etc. that normally pop-up on a display to a third party system? Is there a way to subscribe to these messages?

CAN Bus rate Problem?

Marcel 3 years ago in IQANdesign updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 3 years ago 1

In my project I can adjust the CAN Bus speed of CAN2 depending on a variable. I set this speed in the initialisation of the devices. We use a MC41 and a MD4-7. I made this a couple of years ago and worked since then without problems., But now we have a CAN Bus error which comes after startup since a few weeks. Because we cannot find any reason why this suddenly happens and we read this article:

https://forum.iqan.se/en/knowledge-bases/2/articles/621-no-contact-and-critical-can-bus-error

I begin to wonder if this could have affect on the problem. Is there something changed in the Parker firmware and maybe the CAN bus Speed is set to slow in one of the devices?

Better text formatting

David Dahlgren 3 years ago in IQANdesign updated by toby 3 years ago 1

I wish it was easier to handle Text formatting.

Text parameter channel (TP) do not have channels as inputs, which makes it difficult. For example if I want to display a numerical value if the sensor is connected and "not connected" if it is not connected, this is impossible (atleast I can't find out how to do it).

Is there a reason for this. I want to display text or a value or a text, I have to hide the one not shown.

Hi,

I'm using:

but I have the following Communication menu:

I'm missing the Bluetooth option.

I have uninstalled and re-installed with the same results. What else can I try?

Answer

The Bluetooth functionality requires Windows 10 with build number 15063 or newer to be enabled.

VDIN behaviour

andyr 3 years ago in IQANdesign updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 3 years ago 2

anyone seen this?

I have a weird situation on an MD4 whereby a VDIN button programmed as a momentary button is latching on?

The visibility and enable for the button are both controlled from an IDC channel in turn enabled when a VIN input measuring a position with a tight +/- tolerance added is in tolerance. If the input goes outside the tolerance the VDIN should go invisible and be disabled. There is the possibility the user positions the associated drive to a position just inside the tolerance band and then with a little noise/flicker on the input signal it is possible for the VDIN to effectively be switched on and off rapidly- if it gets into this situation, it seems to latch on- the button itself seems to be off (no yellow background as seen when pushed normally) but in iqan design it is definitely on. Pressing the button makes no difference either way- it remains 'on' The only way to reset it is via a hard reset (power recycle). This is obviously unacceptable and potentially not good.

i have no idea if this is firmware related or what but am interested if others have seen similar and what can be the cause

thanks

Diagnostics Bus Shared

Doug Coutlee 3 years ago in IQANdesign updated by Thomas Moberg (System support) 3 years ago 1

Why do I get a project check warning about this? I do have G11 and a GT module on the same diagnostics bus but why is this a problem?
