Using MD4-7 as "Optional" diagnositcs tool on multiple MC42's

Captain Sprocket 7 years ago updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 7 years ago 9

We have built identical machine, running identical software on MC42's, with the idea of only having one MD4-7 display between these machines as a diagnostics/adjustment tool that is configured as "optional". This would allow for when connecting the display to the MC42, the technician will then be able to interface with the MC42 to adjust parameters.

Also I use the MD4-7 as a programming tool to upload new software onto the machines VIA the display's ethernet port... But what I have encountered is after uploading all the software on both the machines and then plug the display back into the other machine it give a "NO contact MC42" error. Which means I have to upload the software again with the display in place to get contact to that MC42. So each time I want to use the display to configure the other machine I have to do a software upload again from the laptop.

In theory I can't see why this wouldn't work? the display does not store any values, it only displays the parameters that is stored on the MC42's which allows the to technician to adjust those parameters on the MC42 through the MD4-7 display.

I have also tried to upload the software separately on the display only (as an incomplete system), but then it gives "no Contact" error on both machines until I upload the software again with the display in place.

There must be a way to trick the display to think it is connected to the same machine each time it gets swapped around between the 2 machines.

IQAN Sync 5.02.6 is not able to open files

Antti K 7 years ago updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 4 years ago 3

I'm not able to load files using IQAN Sync for Android. It gives error message something like "  No argument for format fmx:iqansync:=uri =connect// ". Same software has been loaded successfully to device with IQAN design and ethernet cable.

I am waiting for my license to arrive, but in the mean have begun developing an application. One of the Examples that came with the download is called "Examples from User manual", where can I find the User Manual it references?

Copy-paste display objects

Huddig Daniel 7 years ago in IQANdesign updated 7 years ago 6

When copy-pasting stuff in GUI editor, the pasted content used to have the same position as the content that was copied.

Now (5.x?) it moves 2+2 pixels

I can see the point of this, but when copying large amounts of content between pages, it destroys your day.., please make this an on/off feature!

Best Regards

Daniel

Are there any regional limitations to where the IQANrun for iPad is available?  I have a customer in New Zealand who cannot find any IQAN products in the Apple store.

FSM with timer interlocking

karl-johan Stjärna 7 years ago in IQANdesign updated 7 years ago 4

Hi

Is there anyone who could have a solution with example for below issue?

I would like a "machine tool" release digital output to be activated when "driver in seat" and "Tool release" button is engaged. But only if the driver in seat is engaged first so the tool does not fall off uncontrolled when turning around the chair if the "tool release" button is stuck or engaged by mistake.

I have tried with FSM but does not find a good solution, i believe there must be a timer involved to check if the tool release is engaged the first few seconds.

Has anyone developed a key pad, like a 10 key, for numeric entry of a function parameter?

Communicating 2 different MC-31 through J1939

Diogo Tasquin Reducino 7 years ago in IQANdesign updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 7 years ago 2

Hey guys!

I'm trying to communicate two different MC-31 through J1939. They aren't in the same application, so I'm testing as they were connecting to outside J1939 modules (one mc31 is sending through JFOUT and the other has a JFIN waiting).

Through Generic CAN protocol I could make it work (I'm only testing an digital input into one lighting up a led onto the other module), but with J1939 I couldn't.

(generic outputs aren't connected because I was giving another try with J1939)

I'm pretty sure I misunderstood the PGN concept, but can't make any progress.

MD4-10: Touch buttons switch off after a configurable time

Florent Mirieu de Labarre 7 years ago in IQANdesign updated 7 years ago 2

With 5.02 it is 30 seconds.

It could be great that this value can be set for each button (or screen), to improve the security (dead man security).

Thanks
