Waking up MD4 on its own

LPC 8 years ago in IQANdesign updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 8 years ago 3

Is it possible to set a wake-up time on the MD4? I would like to power it on at certain date and time instead of leaving it on all the time. Is there a way to add this feature? Or should I consider leaving it always on? Basically, I want to start some procedure at a chosen time, but I also don't want to drain the batteries on my vehicle.

Thank you

RTSP stream via VLC to generic camera

M Donaldson 8 years ago in IQANdesign updated by Ulrik Zakariasson (Software development) 8 years ago 2

Has anyone tried, or had success with using VLC's RTSP stream to work with a generic camera device in IQAN?

I tried a handful of settings but I couldn't get it working. Once thing I did notice in wireshark is the display was attempting to open a TCP connection with my PC (VLC stream server) on port 554 but I was under the impression that RTSP was UDP ?

I am very new to this software environment so I am just tinkering around. Its not something that needs to work, but why not right ?! :)

With the exception of the properties panel I can't seem to dig up any more information to help me out here.

Any advice or experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Answer

RTSP is a TCP protocol that is used to control the video stream. The video stream itself is then sent using the RTP protocol which is a UDP protocol. So in order for the streaming to work via VLC you need to enable an RTSP server in VLC in addition to the RTP streaming (not sure if this is supported).

Variable speed control on Dual direction Math

Damir Pinezić 8 years ago updated 8 years ago 3

For some simple automatic modes I'm using Integer Parametar(Adjust Item) as speed setpoint in DMAC, like on the picture:

Image 696

As this unit can go 360 all around, I would like to give it shortest path to final points, but for this I need to change direction of Controlling vars(for ex. Auto NEST Speed ,sometime need to be positive and sometime negative).

How can it be done, because I'm not able to find solution for this?

Hello,

How can I have a 3 bytes JPIN ? I can have just a 1, 2 or 4 bytes parameter. And it's actually to read a Parker sensor frame (UTS).

Thanks.

MC43 Directional Frequency in

Michael Carlyle 8 years ago in IQANdesign updated by Jos Lentfert 4 years ago 13

I get an error when using the directional frequency in as speed/direction on an MC43.

The channel turns red and gives and error as soon as I change the property to Frequency/direction.

Gauge tick count

If the Tick Count be same number as max value the scale be weird. In the snap shut below you can see 4 are missing.

I solved the error by use 9 ticks.

Generic CAN and simulation

PekkaA 8 years ago in IQANsimulate updated by Jack 6 years ago 3

I have a design involving MD4 and MC2 multimaster setup in a Generic CANbus. MC2 feeding values to MD4 via CAN. When I run the simulation of the design the values do not seem to pass on to MD4 display. I have double checked the CAN frame address and field definitions and they are ok.

However, if I create a Simulation group for MD4 and get the channel updated directly from MC2, then I can see the value changing. But I'd guess this bypasses CAN messaging completely and uses Simulator's own message passing mechanisms.

Is Generic CAN messaging simulation something that is not supported? Or am I doing some fundamental mistake here?

Adjustable IP address

Greg R 8 years ago in IQANdesign updated by Thomas Moberg (System support) 6 years ago 9

We have a number of systems that use the same project except that they require different static IP addresses. We need to make and update separate programs for each system to accomplish this. It would be nice to have the IP address as an adjustable parameter so that we can maintain one IQAN project for all of our systems.

Allow Simulation Change of Value with FGI

Joe 8 years ago in IQANsimulate updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 8 years ago 1

It would be really nice to be able to use the FGI channel to change the underlying value of the referenced channel when simulating. Otherwise it appears that it is required to navigate to and from different function groups in order to change the value and subsequently see the results of the change. If there is another method, please advise. Thanks
