Redundant CANBus utilization

Greg R 3 years ago in IQANdesign 0

Some components have redundant CANBus inputs. IQAN can use these by having multiple CAN outputs assigned to different CANbus. It would be nice to have a built in function that could swap an output to a different bus automatically on bus failure or using a logic input.

G11 "no master module availible"

Jasper de Stigter 3 years ago in IQANgo updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 3 years ago 2

When connecting with IQANgo the machine name can be selected and the app tries to get in contact with the master but then comes up with "no master module found"

In this case we have MD4-7[0] and the diagnostics are connected to bus-D as well as the G11 module, via can-D i have communication through J1939 with MD4-7[1] who runs his own program and sends/recieves through J1939 as well.

The G11 seems to have a conflict in choosing the master as the second display is on the same bus as the G11, when disconnecting the second MD4-7[1] the connection can be made without anny problem.

Below is only to explian the situation, MD4-7[0] has a different application as the MD4-7[1]

Ambiguous module address

Ed Schippers 3 years ago in IQANdesign updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 3 years ago 3

In a program, I always used multiple expansion modules with the same address with no problem.

this to select for different output setups (COUT instead of DOUT and so). via a setting one of the modules was enabled.

physically there is only 1 module but by enabling one or the other in the program is was possible to switch between the different setups

in Design 6.x this not possible anymore because it generates an Ambiguous address error.

any suggestion the deal with this

regards Ed

IQANrun times out

Pawel Pekala 3 years ago in IQANrun updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 3 years ago 1

I noticed that IQANrun times out and disconnects from the master module when two conditions exist:

1. While accessing a large measure group.

2. While accessing J1939 device to view assigned messages under the system layout tab.

COUT Disable Bug?

Chris Litwin 3 years ago in IQANdesign updated 3 years ago 4

IQANdesign 6.04.9.5943

MD4-7 & XC43

I just diagnosed what I think is a bug for the current outputs. I have a COUT going to the max positive value, then while the COUT is at max, the channel gets disabled. When the channel is enabled again it turns on by itself at the previous value where it was disabled at. The length of time it stays at the previous value is affected by the ramp settings.

In my opinion the COUT should zero itself when disabled since that is the safe state.

Cannot see all the files in the IQANgo

Adolfo 3 years ago in IQANgo updated by Ulrik Zakariasson (Software development) 3 years ago 4

I cannot see the files I am downloading from one MD4.

For example, the PY190173- (11ª-1521) SACH - 27-1-22 10.42.20 in the image of my mobile phone folder is not showed in the Manage files.

Can someone help my, please? Thanks in advance.

Is there a way to vary the transmit rate of a JFOUT channel that is in an External Function Group?

Nathan 3 years ago in IQANdesign updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 3 years ago 1

I can vary the transmit rate of the JFOUT channel with an integer parameter in an initialization group but I am not sure how to do this when the JFOUT channel is in an external function group. I do not see a way to use a constant channel in an external function group and have it point to the transmit rate. Any suggestions?

MDGN Red Stop Lamp Channel Not Clearing

Justin Wagner 3 years ago in IQANdesign updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 3 years ago 13

We have a machine with remote control that we need to be able to cycle ECU power to clear active DTCs, while keeping our IQAN control system powered on, using a digital output with relay to control how long the power is disconnected from the ECU (essentially acting as a keyswitch).

After a 10 second power cycle to our engine ECU (John Deere) to clear active DTCs being broadcast on the DM1 channel, and allow for engine rolldown if it's running, the DM1 channel goes back to 0, indicating no active DTCs, yet the MDGN Red Stop Lamp channel is true (see image). As I understand it, the lamp status is part of the DM1 message. So if there is no DM1 message being broadcast, how is the value of this Module Diagnostic Channel still reading true???

Is the MDGN lamp status not read from the DM1 message? How is the MDGN Red Stop Lamp status read? Why does the amber warning lamp not come back on if the red stop lamp does?

The engine still starts and runs, which it would not do if there were an actual Red Stop Lamp event occurring.

When cycling power to the ECU and the MD4 at the same time, the red stop lamp does not come back on and all active DTCs are cleared

I really like the addition of the lamp flashing option, it would be very useful for Tier IV engine applications, but this MDGN is just not acting how I expected it to.

Any help would be much appreciated.

uniCAN.dll reloaded ok. ERR_DLL_NOT_INITIALIZED

Brendon 3 years ago in IQANrun updated 3 years ago 2

Has anyone come across this error in IQANRun?

uniCAN.dll reloaded ok. ERR_DLL_NOT_INITIALIZED

At this time I don't have any more info than that, but I can try to get the IQAN version, possibly the device they're connecting to, and the device they're using to connect.

Any ideas?
