Generic frame in channel (GFIN) reception issue

Paul Summers 3 years ago in IQANdesign updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 3 years ago 1

Hello Folks,

Has anyone had issues with receiving 11bit messages on a 29 bit generic bus (application is written in 5.03)?

I have 3 messages that I know are being broadcast (here is a capture from a separate sniffer I used to verify);

But all three of the GFINs are not reading... I have tried entering the identifier in both decimal and hexadecimal without success;

Any ideas on how to resolve would be greatly appreciated!

Generic CAN Bus Frames Not Linking

Braidan Duffy 3 years ago in IQANdesign updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 3 years ago 2

Hello! I am trying to get two generic CAN bus frames to link together in my project. One is inside of an external function group and is broadcasting a 2-byte message as a GFOUT channel. I have a CAN bus frame in channel (GFIN) inside the main project that is receiving that message and parsing it for a state machine. They share the same identifier, properties, bit offset, everything. However, whenever I simulate, the data is not shared between them. They are linked on the same Generic CAN bus module in the system diagram. Am I missing something?

Possible Bug - Physical Hardware Channels Not Disabled in External Function

Braidan Duffy 3 years ago in IQANdesign updated 3 years ago 3

Hello, I am using IQAN 6.05. I have several external functions that have Digital Output and Input channels within them that are not required for operation. Each instance of the external function is enabled/disabled during initialization, as needed. When used as internal function groups, the unassigned DOUT and DIN channels do not throw errors, as expected and required. However, when the same function groups are made external, and imported into the project, the errors appear - despite the instance of the external function group being disabled.

This hampers the ability for my code to function properly. Is there anyway this can be addressed or a fix/hack suggested?

Thank you.

IQAN Script buttons

Brendon 3 years ago in IQANscript updated by Edward Polzin 3 years ago 4

Greetings,

Has anyone created a multi-page User Interface in IQAN Script 5/6?

I've previously used IQAN Customize 4 to create a User Interface, almost like a very basic website with a navigation menu to several pages, and some links to kick off scripts.  I am looking to create the same interface using IQAN Script 5/6, but I've run into issues with the Navigation.

IQAN Script doesn't appear to have the same button functionality IQAN Customize had, so I can't simply add a button image and link it to a script.  To combat this I tried using Multiple Choice Menu Buttons, but they don't work if you have 2 or more menus on a screen.  That is because you need to make a selection on both before it'll continue on beyond the screen.

In this image below, I've selected TESTING in the top Navigation menu, there is a Continue function looking at the Measure for both Navigation Menu and Quick Menu.  The Continue function is true, yet it won't continue on past this screen (that is until I also select a button in the Quick Menu).

I think this is a bug, as I've used the Continue function in previous versions of IQAN Script.

I also think that IQAN Script should have the buttons or links added.  For example, if there were <a href> tags that could reference scripts, then I wouldn't require such a workaround.

If a Multiple Choice Menu had a Required (true/false) field this too would resolve this issue.

Multimeter does display

Richard 3 years ago in IQANrun updated by Adeel nikama 2 years ago 2

I am working remotely on a customer’s laptop via google chrome, with IQAN run 5 (latest version) open I try to select multimeter, but it does not appear on the screen. I have tried to initialise it from the drop-down menu and by using the short cut key as well as the icon on the main screen, none of these methods seem to make the tool appear.

I have also asked the customer to initialise his end but still no joy.

Is there a reason for this and is there a solution?

Iqan Run Disconnecting Issues

Adam Kolb 3 years ago in IQANrun updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 3 years ago 3

I (and some of our field techs) have been having issues with IQAN Run disconnecting from the master module when attempting to get / send clones. It has also occurred while recording measure groups. These issues have occurred on machines with a single MD4 master module as well as MD4 and MC43 multi master systems. Has anyone experienced these issues?

COUT/VIN open load/low error check

Evert-Jan 3 years ago in IQANdesign updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 3 years ago 2

Hi all, Does someone know if it's possible with a status operand, to have a check if all VIN's and COUT's status are ok with one command for all VINs status and one command for all COUT?

I know the status of the MC43 itself is OK even when there is an COUT open load.

MD3 pages to MD4

John Frost 3 years ago in IQANdesign updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 3 years ago 2

I am finally upgrading from the MD3 to the MC4 and other new modules. The Display pages disappear when opening an older version with an MD3 in it as I guess Design 6 does not support MD3 pages? Is there a way to get the MD3 pages into the MD4 with all of the connections or do I have to rebuild the display page in the MD4? Exporting an MD3 display page is not visible to the MD4 when you try to import it.

Multi-Language Qustion

Anthony Le 4 years ago in IQANdesign updated by Thomas Moberg (System support) 4 years ago 1

When selecting the text fields that I want to translate, is it necessary to select reoccurring words? An example image is attached. The text "Open circuit or blow normal" shows up in several other places. If I translate one instance, does it apply to all instances of that text? Or is it specific to that component and I still need to translate every instance? Seems very redundant.
