IQAN Design with MC4X wont allow Frequency/Direction Sensor types (DPCNT)

Ryan Wadewitz 4 years ago in IQANdesign updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 3 years ago 2

It appears in the manuals that the MC41 can accept a Frequency/Direction sensor type and is allowed in the System Layout area of IQAN Design, but you get an "Error: Property not Available" in the application portion.  I have tried using an event counter with the high speed DINs (C1 Pins 11 and 12).  I have cycle time of the MC41 set to 1ms.  The results are inconsistent at best with error in pulse count up to 25% at approximately 200Hz.  I tried using   PCNT input with the high speed input for direction.  It improved, but is still not accurate as the pulse count seems to double and miss counts on direction change.  Is this a software bug? Is there another work-around?

Adding External Function parameters to adjust groups

Greg R 4 years ago in IQANdesign updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 4 years ago 4 1 duplicate

If you add an external function and try to drag an adjust item from it to an adjust group, it will not allow it. If you open the list of adjust items and find the parameter and drag it that way, it will allow it. This seems to have broke on the latest update.

Organisation of large programs

Roy den Drijver 4 years ago in IQANdesign 0

In order for me to keep a clear overview of all the functional groups and systems in my system layout, I could use a feature that allows me to filter or at least put all the names in alphabetical order like words starting with an A up to Z and numbers starting with a 0 up to whatever number possible.

This is just an idea I would like to see coming in future updates.

Thank you in advance.

Kind regards,

Roy

Generic CAN Parameter Out Max Value?

Barnhart Crane 4 years ago in IQANdesign updated 4 years ago 3

I need to send a PDO1 off SDO to a Variable frequency drive. When I enter the necessary data portion of the frame, IQAN Design (5.04.8.5179) gives me an error saying I'm out of the maximum range. I'm confused by this. Currently,

I won't be able to correctly send the SDO. Any thoughts?

CAN Routing Question

Marcel 4 years ago in IQANdesign updated 4 years ago 2

Hello, I'm trying to use the CAN Routing in a J1939 application with an MC43. I made a J1939 rule with default action 'Allow'. Now I want to block only the message 1CECFF00. It seems not to work as I expected. I added an exception rule with PGN number 60671. With my CANalyzer, I see the message appear where I don't expect it after this...

Am I doing something wrong?

There is an issue when copying State or other channels. v6.03.

Glenn 4 years ago in IQANdesign updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 4 years ago 2

There is an issue when copying State or other channels.  v6.03.

1) Create a State.

2) Link a parameter to it.

Image 2205

3) Copy the State to State2

4) Rename the second Enable to Enable2

5) Now go into State2 and click on the transition, it show "Enable", not "Enable2"

6) Now go up a level and see that State2 is linked to Enable

This happens with other channels as well.  Also, this happens when copying into other projects or Function Groups.  Everything looks good and no errors are reported by the syntax checker, until you click into the Qcode, then things break.

Generic CAN Frame Out - Assignment

Barnhart Crane 4 years ago in IQANdesign updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 2 years ago 4

I'm confused about the Generic CAN Frame Out channel. It appears it needs to be "assigned" to a certain module on the bus, but its very nature is that it 'belongs' to the IQAN master sending the frame out onto the bus. IQAN Design will not allow you to assign the channel to an IQAN module. It seems you can only assign it to a generic module.

Does a dummy module need to be created that represents the IQAN module? Or should the frame out channel be assigned to the module it's intended to be received by? This 2nd option doesn't quite make sense either, since a CAN frame could be intended for multiple nodes on the bus.

Any guidance?
