MD4 touch screen not responding
We use the MD4-7 for all our systems. I have one of my customer with a Fairly new(3 years) but rarely used unit for a test bench. He complains and I witness that is touch screen is often not responding. It is mounted on an aluminum test bench. Sometimes if he moves the unit away from the bench it seems to respond better but not always. We tried to ground the unit but it did not improve. Do you think this is an hardware issue or is there mounting issue we need to look at?
MD4 10" screen
Does anyone know how the 10" version of the MD4 is coming along. The last information I had was the unit was not released for production yet due to screen fogging issues. I hope that is resolved as I may well have an application for the unit.
Is the unit available for sale?
MD4 user inputs
I have tried - Grayhill - Graf-Syteco and powerkey so far who do have keypads but they do not have a size or shape currently in production that fits nicely alongside the MD4 (7").
Does anyone have any ideas?
usb Ethernet adapter for MD4
Could I add a USB port and a USB to Ethernet adapter so they can continue connecting with USB?
Does anyone have a better workaround?
MD4 Temperature Test
Last monday, we did MD4 temperature test. MD4 waited at -33°C for 4 hours in a closed enviroment. After 4 hours, Power on MD4 7" touch panel and We tested digital in, digital out, canbus channel, touch screen. Resault we are fine. We didnt have a problem. My hand just froze when testing :)
Analog Input - Temperature Sensor
The question is if any of you have used a temperature sensor in the analog input of a MD4-7? Was it PTC or NTC? Because in pdf only talks about connect a PTC sensor with a pull-up resistor. Kind regards. Diego.
md4 no address tag
Hi, I have a MD4 display and it does not recognize the ID tag anymore. Already did a update to the last firmware but without results. Any suggestions?
North American MD4 Phase-Out Notice
Are there details yet for a North American phase-out plan for MD4?

terminate CAN
I'm having an issue on a MD4 where I have turned the terminate CAN off on all 4 busses but they still turn on the internal resistors. I end up with 40 ohms as I have 2 physical termination resistors already. If I power cycle the MD4 the resistance will be 40 ohms for a min or two and then it drops to 60 as it should be. then I power cycle the Md4 and resistance goes to 40 again and then drops after a min or two. Its seems like the MD4 will not take the changes but it has been set this way for several months and it has been reprogrammed dozens of times
Run fault PID 90131 bluescreen crash
Hello,
I am currently working on a machine that uses an IQAN system with an MD4. For some context: it’s a mobile hydraulic machine driven by a diesel engine. I’m running into an issue that I haven’t been able to pinpoint to a specific cause, and I’m wondering if anyone recognizes this error code or has ideas on what I could try next.
The error code I get is:
Run fault PID 90131 TID 14 Signal 11 Code 0
The situation is as follows. When I start the machine, everything initializes fine. The whole IQAN system comes up normally, the UI works, and I can operate the control system without any issues. When I give the signal to start the engine, it works in two steps:
First, the engine ECU is powered up. Then the ECU sends an OK signal back, after which I need to trigger the start again to actually crank the engine.
The ECU and the IQAN system communicate over CAN. However, as soon as I give the first start signal and the ECU powers up, the MD4 immediately goes into a blue screen and completely locks up. Nothing responds anymore, and I can’t recover from the error without completely disconnecting the system and doing a full reset.
As far as I can see, there’s nothing useful written in the logs that I can trace back to the blue screen—only the information shown on the display itself.
I’ve been trying to diagnose this for a while now, but I’m not sure what could be causing the fault in the first place. The only thing I could find online was a post mentioning CAN bus overload, but I don’t really see how that would apply here.
At this point I’m mainly looking for ideas on what could cause this error, or where I should start with further diagnosis. Any ideas are welcome.
