MD4 touch screen not responding

Jean-Marc Zanni 8 years ago in Master modules / MD4 updated by Kevin 2 years ago 5

We use the MD4-7 for all our systems.  I have one of my customer with a Fairly new(3 years) but rarely used unit for a test bench.  He complains and I witness that is touch screen is often not responding.  It is mounted on an aluminum test bench.  Sometimes if he moves the unit away from the bench it seems to respond better but not always.  We tried to ground the unit but it did not improve.  Do you think this is an hardware issue or is there mounting issue we need to look at?

MD4 10" screen

Richard 10 years ago in Master modules / MD4 0

Does anyone know how the 10" version of the MD4 is coming along. The last information I had was the unit was not released for production yet due to screen fogging issues. I hope that is resolved as I may well have an application for the unit.

Is the unit available for sale?

MD4 user inputs

Richard 11 years ago in Master modules / MD4 updated 9 years ago 2
I want to use multiple MD4 units on a new project but the problem is in our application the user may be wearing gloves so I am not sure a touch screen is useful. My first idea was to put a CAN open tactile button pad by the side of the MD4 unit but have come up with a blank.
I have tried - Grayhill - Graf-Syteco and powerkey so far who do have keypads but they do not have a size or shape currently in production that fits nicely alongside the MD4 (7").
Does anyone have any ideas?

usb Ethernet adapter for MD4

Zach 11 years ago in Master modules / MD4 updated by Mitch Houle 7 years ago 7
I have dealers and techs all over the world who connect with USB to the machines with the IQAN system.
Could I add a USB port and a USB to Ethernet adapter so they can continue connecting with USB?

Does anyone have a better workaround?

Analog Input - Temperature Sensor

Metalfor 11 years ago in Master modules / MD4 updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 5 years ago 3
Hello I'm new here in the forum and I'm already gathering information to take new designs decisions.
The question is if any of you have used a temperature sensor in the analog input of a MD4-7? Was it PTC or NTC? Because in pdf only talks about connect a PTC sensor with a pull-up resistor. Kind regards. Diego.

CANbus protetion tvs diode

pabbineedi rk 1 month ago in Master modules / MD4 0

My CAN bus operates with approximately 2 V on CAN_L and 3 V on CAN_H during normal communication. I would like to ensure that the TVS diode remains inactive during normal operation and provides protection only during overvoltage or surge conditions. If this device is not suitable, please suggest an alternative TVS diode that is recommended for CAN bus protection and compatible with these operating voltage levels.Awaiting your feedback.

Hi, I have a MD4 display and it does not recognize the ID tag anymore. Already did a update to the last firmware but without results. Any suggestions?

terminate CAN

Codie 3 months ago in Master modules / MD4 updated 3 months ago 2

I'm having an issue on a MD4 where I have turned the terminate CAN off on all 4 busses but they still turn on the internal resistors. I end up with 40 ohms as I have 2 physical termination resistors already. If I power cycle the MD4 the resistance will be 40 ohms for a min or two and then it drops to 60 as it should be. then I power cycle the Md4 and resistance goes to 40 again and then drops after a min or two. Its seems like the MD4 will not take the changes but it has been set this way for several months and it has been reprogrammed dozens of times
