With the new MC42 and MC43 master modules, I see you have the ability to communicate via Ethernet communication port. Where can I find this part?

20mV jumps on VIN from XC23

Kevin Arscott 2 years ago • updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 2 years ago 1

We have an application for some voltage signals to be connected to the MC3 application. We have selected an XC23 module which compares a VIN signal on the MC3 with a VIN on the XC23. We have two of these functions (1 x MC3 VIN and 1 x XC23 VIN = one of two comparison functions in the application) measuring two different positions using sensors.

We have found that one set (an MC3 and XC23 VIN comparison) seem to follow almost exactly, however the other pair, the XC23 signal appears to increase and decrease in approx. 20mV steps. We are using VIN E and F on the XC23 and it appears the VIN F is causing the stepped signal even though it looks like it should have an accuracy of 1.22mV.

We have changed the sensor and XC23 module, but still appears to be doing it. Is there any reason for this behaviour? I have checked the VREF in the application, and all the VINs are configured to the correct reference voltage.

IQAN 4.05, application cycle of 50ms.

4.04 - File Name Size

Nick Pridham 2 years ago • updated by Ulrik Zakariasson (Software development) 2 years ago 1

Windows 7

In 4.04 the application file name string length seems to be restricted. 4-4.03 seemed to allow much long file names. Is this intentional ?

Is a first time I have this problem wich the MD3 .
When I want adjust my parameter since the MD3, is not possible.
In my programme, I Have créated the adjust groups ("Réglages")
with a PIN code

When I look the MD3, I have a green clamping for indicate to the user that there is a PIN code.

with the Up and Down button , i select my adjust group and i push on the ok button and i write my PIN code.

After, I Want select the Function parameter but it's not possible. I am blocked and I have another green clamping.

When I look my adjust parameter, Enabled is on YES .

Its possible to tell me why my Fonction parameter is boqued ?

For information, I have a 4.03.27 Iqan Version

Thank you for you help.

One reason: Are the parameters in a function group, which is disabled?

Eliminate a wasted J1939 CAN BUS

Forrest 2 years ago • updated by Ulrik Zakariasson (Software development) 2 years ago 1

I run a dedicated J1939 Bus to speak with the Vehicle CAN. I imagine most do it this way.

Now that I have to cover for the possibility of both 250kbs and 500kbs J1939 vehicle CAN buses, and do not want to have multiple versions of software floating around if I can help it (tried it, can be a bit of an unneeded mess), I am running out of CAN Buses on my MD3s.

The way it is now, I am planning on setting up 2 vehicle can buses, each with their own "engine", then pick which engine to enable in the settings (250kbs, 500kbs, or disabled). Unfortunately, that leaves me with a wasted Bus since I can not run both the 250 and the 500 to on the same physical CAN Bus pins. An empty Bus might even throw an error. I haven't tested it yet.

It would be nice to be able to select J1939 bus speed in the software settings or be able to disable the unused bus in the settings. Either would free up a bus on the MD3 so I wouldn't have to put absolutely everything else (Master, Expansion, Diagnostic, and J1939 components) all on the same physical bus.

IQAN Network Key Not Recognised Error

Kevin Arscott 3 years ago • updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 2 years ago 1

Hi we have had a customer report 'IQAN Network Key Not Recognised' error appearing on MD4-7 with a 3 master system (2 x MC3). We are currently unable to access logs and see if this error has logged. There is no photograph of the error displayed on the screen, the operator only recalled it after the shift, therefore the error may have been worded slightly different.

Is there information on this type of error and what it means? I have looked through the manual and cannot find anything along these lines. I wondered if it was a project ID mismatch error?

MC3 failure reaction

What happens if the application running on the MC3 crashes? Does the safety ASIC reacts and brings all of the outputs to a safe state (unpowered)? Thanks!

digits pin code

jan 3 years ago • updated by Ulrik Zakariasson (Software development) 3 years ago 1

Is there any way to add more digits as 4 to the pincode

Wilfried 3 years ago

Standard, every pincode in IQAN has 4 digits, so standard, it is not possible to have more digits

Log MC3

This is my système

In my log fil, i have toow calculateur

Coffret démarrage log = MD3

Coffret électrique log = MC3

When the Log MC3 is full, the MD3 not saved the news erreur yet the log full behavior is put on Continue logging.

In the help his write :

Continue logging makes the log delete its oldest records to make room for newer. Use this option if it is more important to see the latest events.

Why my news erreurs is not saved ?
