XC43 INPUT ERROR
I am working with a couple customers who are having "No Contact" Issues with XC43s installed to replace XA2s.
When looking at the XC43 module itself, the error code is 1:2 (one red, 2 yellows).
I'm assuming the module is getting an errant input somewhere which is causing it to shut itself down.
I would like to better understand this error code better. What causes an input error and under what circumstances does it cause the module to stop communicating with the master.
XC44 DOUT-(HS) SSP state (reverse feed)
Good morning, we have had a problem with an XC44 expansion module, when we connect more than 5 solenoid valves to the DOUT-(HS) outputs, during the initialisation process, the module is protected and goes into state: SSP (Safe Shutdown Path) with the blink code: R4:2 1:1:1.
The electrical installation has been checked several times and everything is OK and all the clamp diodes are installed properly.
If we start with the solenoids disconnected and when the initialisation process has passed we connect them, everything works correctly.
We have tried to replace the module and it didn't work either.
We have finally had to add several relays to control the solenoids so that the module starts correctly, but this solution involves a lot of tedious extra work.
XC4x C1 Harness
Hello,
This is a small but frustrating nitpick.
The XC4x C1 Prototyping Harness (Parker no. 20085116) comes with wires installed in the C1:4 and C1:20 position.
This is annoying, because in order to use these modules, you need to install the ID Tag. (Parker no. 20085131 for example)
So every time you use this (expensive) part, you need to de-pin these two wires, remove them from the harness, and install the ID Tag.
Ideally there would be no wires present in these slots.
Like the older style XA2 Prototyping Harness (Parker no. 5030030).

XC43 DOUT HS in parallel
When connecting loads to high side digital outputs in parallel, the manual says on page 96 "Increased drive capability
Power driver high-side is connected in parallel with adjacent output to drive double
load current." On page 116 it states the max load per output is 4 amps and max load per group is 6 amps. So when you connect in parallel is the max load 8 amps? Or 6 amps?
XC43 Current Outputs Bounds for short and open load
Hello, I am working with an XC43 current output that controls a bidirectional valve and want to make sure I use the right resistor to avoid problems with getting short and open load errors. I have found the minimum resistance for my case is 20ohms based on Appendix A in Parker's Family instruction book, but I am not sure how to find the maximum. Any help would be appreciated.
Current leakaje XC42/43/44
Hello, I have a current leakage problem in the XC-43 and XC-44 modules.
I am using Digital Out HS outputs to drive LED blinkers, but they don't turn off completely, there is a 5.8V voltage leakage. The flywheel diode is installed but we have had to install some power resistors in parallel to get them to switch off completely. The same problem has appeared when connecting a buzzer to Digital Out HS.
XC42 blink code R4:3 3:1:6
Hello,
We have a customer with this error pattern in one of the XC42 installed in the machine: R4:3 3:1:6
But we can’t find this pattern in the manual.
Can you explain what this blink code means, please?
Best regards
Adolfo
XC-43 Modules Leakage Current/Voltage
The Leakage Current/Voltage from the Digital Outs make it difficult to control LED's and Audible Devices without using a relay/resistor/other. The Leakage Current/Voltage is also making it difficult if the Digital Outs are read by other electronic devices (off is not off). How does Parker recommend interfacing with these devices using the new XC-43/series modules? Adding external devices to these circuits is making the XC-43 modules not very convenient.
XC43 Flashing normal (yellow) with CAN-BUS no contact error on master module and in IQANdesign.
I've got two XC43's on a machine. One on CAN-BUS-A & the other on CAN-BUS-B. Both modules are flashing yellow normal operation but the master module says A-BUS no contact & B-Bus no contact. When I run the program in IQANdesign connected to the machine, I also see no contact on both modules.
Why are the two XC43 modules flashing the normal operation flash code and not the CAN error/no contact error flash code?
