XA2 no connect four red LED blinks

Anthony Sandoval 5 years ago in Expansion modules updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 5 years ago 2

I have an MD3 running a small program and an XA2 expansion module.   When connecting only power , GND , Can-H, Can-L and ID tag #3 to the expansion module I get a four red LED blink with no Orange/ Yellow.

No connection message on the MD3.

The ID code in Iqan Deisgn is the same as ID tag.

Answer

Hi Anthony,

I am glad it was just a case mistaken identity and the XA2 module was in fact an XT2 module !

Conneting IQAN MC41 to PC

PRADEEP KRISHNA 5 years ago in Master modules / MC4x updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 3 years ago 19

I need to know what are the possibilities to connect MC41 controller with PC to flash program into controller and for diagnostics.

Answer

You can only connect via CAN to a MC41.

So you need to have a USB to CAN interface.

MD4 +RTC RESISTOR

Chris Litwin 5 years ago in Master modules / MD4 updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 5 years ago 4

The MD4 documentation states to use 1.5K ohm resistor on the +RTC circuit. Is the 1.5K ohm the only type that is usable, or is there a range that will work?

MC43 Fusing

Chris Litwin 5 years ago in Master modules / MC4x updated by Ryan 5 years ago 4

The MC43 documentation states to use a single 40A external fuse to protect the module. Is it sufficient to run two single 20A fuses, one on each +BAT connection?

XC-23 minimum input voltage

Guillaume Fournier 6 years ago in Expansion modules / XC2x updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 5 years ago 1

Hello,

I have an H-Bridge that drives a DC brushed motor on 12V. I need to determine the PWM ratio being supplied to this motor by the H-Bridge. There is no other signal that could get me this information so I am contemplating hooking both sides of this motor to PWM inputs on the XC-23. Before doing such a thing, I looked at the signal using an oscilloscope. Basically, the signal is 0-12V most of the time but dips below 0V when the ON time finishes. The lowest voltage read with the scope is -11V for a short period of time.

There are no Absolute Requirements for negative voltages on inputs in the datasheet of the XC-23. What is the absolute minimum voltage that can be applied to a PWM input of the XC-23 without damaging it ?

Hi there

I am using a mc41 for my application, my application is led control with the cout, but is it possible to do this, so my Leds can be dimmed?

Thank you

IQAN G3 Modem service interruption

Domenico 6 years ago in Gateways / G2/G3 updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 6 years ago 1

We installed a G3 modem (with SIM Parker installed) on a customer's machine and we activated the Proemion service as in all other cases. All worked well for about a year; suddenly the service was interrupted, and Proemion warned us that there is no "data plan" for the embedded SIM, inviting us to choose a suitable one. It is not clear to us why the modem worked for a year without a specific "data plan" for the SIM and then suddenly it was blocked. Was there any error in the initial modem settings? In the software there configuration of the modem (through IqanRun) maybe we missed something?

Thank you.

Short Circuit Protection on XA2 DOUTs?

Ethan Zeman 6 years ago in Expansion modules / XA2, XS2 updated by Thomas Moberg (System support) 5 years ago 3

Pardon me if this information is already readily available but am having trouble finding it.

If the wiring for an XA2 DOUT is shorted to battery is there an internal protection strategy in the module that will protect the XA2 from being damage?

Frequency input MC4xx

Captain Sprocket 6 years ago in Master modules / MC4x updated by Mark Bevington 6 years ago 8

Hi,

We have installed a speed sensor (PNP, 15000Hz) onto a MC42 frequency input (pin C1:28, PD).

The problem we have is that the raw value only goes up to about 2800Hz then zero's out with no further reading and we need to get a reading up to at least 5500Hz.

I have configured the input settings to: Max HZ -> 15000 and also the Scaled Maxed-> 15000 to mach the sensor's capabilities and then use the raw reading to scale a RPM value.

We tried adjusting the sensor closer to the ring gear, but no improvement.

So I did a test to see if it might be the sensor that is faulty by connecting the sensor to a different type/brand of controller. It immediately worked and gave the correct reading constantly.

The question is now... What am I doing wrong on the IQAN side?

ISO a simple Tsc1 interface module that can convert basic analog throttle Inc/Dec input, to Tsc1 messaging output.  Don't really need/want a display if its possible to do with out one.  Please bare with me as i'm not very familiar with whats possible and whats not.  Thanks Josh
