MC31 I/O strange behaviour

I have a MC31 setup than is behaving unexpectedly. Some I/Os seem wrongly mapped in the software. When I toggle Dout J, the pin C1:17 does not change state, but outputs F-G-H-I seem to work normaly.

Also, reference A (on pins pins C2:1 and C2:2) is not providing 5V (in fact, I see 0V between those pins). Any analog sensor connected to this ref is obviously not working.


This is using SW 3.16.8.3850.

Please advise.

application cycle time

Why MD4 have a bigger application cycle time (min 25ms) compared to MD3 (min 10ms), even MD4 have more powerful processor than MD3 have?

We need as small cycle time as possible (10ms is maximum, 1 - 5ms would be ideal)

Our speed sensors give 1000 pulses (top speed) in one second (1 pulses in 1 ms). When software cycle time is too big the reaction time for the sensor signals is too slow and we don't get our system accurate enough.
That is the biggest problem with IQAN, the reaction time is too slow.

Is there any way to change MD4 / MD3 cycle time smaller?

MD4 reporting MC2 VREF error high 6.60v

I’m experiencing a MC2 VREF error high 6.60v show up on a MD4 display unfortunately the product is not currently here to troubleshoot but I would like to know if this may or may not be an already known Bug with master to master communication/hardware monitoring. In the MC2 I am not using the module diagnostics for VREF, however assuming it still reports that information to the headmaster.



This is on a 12v system and the only place the 5 volts is used is 7 switches (on/off) as a checksum/and direction change sense to high impedance analog inputs. I have done this before without issue however it was 2.6 software, this is the first one with 3.0 software.



I thought seeing as I can’t troubleshoot it at the moment I would ask and possibly save time if this already a known issue.

Availability of a high amperage expansion module?

Are there any plans to add a high amperage output module to the IQAN platform?  Currently, we use the J1939 functionality to control Pran Systems PR3510 modules (15 Amp per output) for lights, wiper motors, and other high current loads but it would make things much less complicated if we could control everything from within one software application.
