Looking for MD4

TinusXXL 12 months ago in Master modules / MD4 updated 11 months ago 2

Hi, I'm looking to purchase a second-hand MD4 (and XC42) to replace our current control system. Has anyone got these in stock that could be shipped fairly quickly?

Thanks in advance!

XC43 INPUT ERROR

Ethan Zeman 12 months ago in Expansion modules / XC4x updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 12 months ago 2

I am working with a couple customers who are having "No Contact" Issues with XC43s installed to replace XA2s.

When looking at the XC43 module itself, the error code is 1:2 (one red, 2 yellows).

I'm assuming the module is getting an errant input somewhere which is causing it to shut itself down.

I would like to better understand this error code better.  What causes an input error and under what circumstances does it cause the module to stop communicating with the master.

How does an open load error effect the operation of a PWM HS+LS output.

Kerry Brock 1 year ago in Master modules / MC4x updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 12 months ago 2

I am testing logic with a MC43 and using a PWM HS+LS output.

In the system we are using both sides of the output (+ and -) to drive two individual devices.

Both should never operate at the same time.

To simulate one of the device not operating, we unplug one of the solenoids.

With logic, this automatically causes the other side of the output to now function.

Basically, if the + side fails, it should switch to the - side and operate.

We are getting an open load error on the output with one of the solenoids unplugged and it does not allow us to operate the other solenoid on the PWM HS+LS output.

Is the output designed to shut off both sides if one side detects open load or should the other side work if one side detects open load?

As an example:

If the solenoid between C2:67 and C2:15 is unplugged, but the solenoid between C2:67 and C2:31 is plugged in and fully operational, should we be able to command it with an input signal of -100?

Input Ranges for PWM and Accuracy

Daniel Pendleton 1 year ago in Master modules / MC4x updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 1 year ago 2

Is the MC4X PWM Input able to monitor frequency ranges outside of it's normal function like 1000 Hz and if so what would the effects be with the resolution of the readings from the MC4X?

How current can I draw out pins 56 (bat+) and 29 (bat-) if I am using pins 42(bat+) and 43 (bat-) for the input power. I need to power 2 each IQAN sv120 cameras.

What material is used for the molded rear panel of the MD4-10?  I was asked by a customer and couldn't find anything about it in the catalog.

XC44 DOUT-(HS) SSP state (reverse feed)

Jesus 1 year ago in Expansion modules / XC4x updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 12 months ago 6

Good morning, we have had a problem with an XC44 expansion module, when we connect more than 5 solenoid valves to the DOUT-(HS) outputs, during the initialisation process, the module is protected and goes into state: SSP (Safe Shutdown Path) with the blink code: R4:2 1:1:1.

The electrical installation has been checked several times and everything is OK and all the clamp diodes are installed properly.

If we start with the solenoids disconnected and when the initialisation process has passed we connect them, everything works correctly.

We have tried to replace the module and it didn't work either.

We have finally had to add several relays to control the solenoids so that the module starts correctly, but this solution involves a lot of tedious extra work.

24V MD4 with 12V relay on LS DOUT

Can a 12V relay be driven by the LS DOUT of an MD4 supplied with 24V without protection or diagnostic issues?

XC21 Vref Error A

Caleb 1 year ago in Expansion modules / XC2x updated by Markus Seppänen 1 year ago 1

I have a system that uses an MD4 and some XC21 expansion modules. I am receiving an error code on the MD4 stating there is a VREF error A on XC21[0].

Currently our system uses the XC21 as digital inputs. We have a system power supply that supplies 24Vdc to a switch and then the digital input goes to the other side of the switch. This system has been running fine for multiple years, but now we have the Vref error.

Since I am not actually using the Vref + at all, I know it isn't overloading. That seems to be the most common answer, as the XC21 Vrefs can only output 70 mA. Is the error bring prompted because something internally is damaged and needs to be replaced?

Her is a picture of our wiring. C5 and C7 are the Vref A + signal, which aren't wired. C2, C4, C6, and C8 are all digital inputs from our system, all being 24Vdc. The system 24VDC is also powering the MD4 and XC21 so there isn't a concern about different power sources.

Any thoughts?
