Have any idea what is problem cause VRef+ (C1:7) no 5V output.  I can comfirm the PIN and controller are ok after i made test on bench.

What is problem cause 5V PIN stop output. possible CAN wrong or Any PINs short to ground ? No error informs why VRef do not output now

4-20mA convert to V input on MC43 using 250ohm resistor

Kevin 2 years ago in Master modules / MC4x updated by anonymous 2 years ago 2

When using a high precision 250 or 120ohm resistor to allow IQAN to measure the signal from a current loop, do I need to connect Vref -VE for ground reference?

Any technical reason for using both +BATT pins on MC43?

Kevin 2 years ago in Master modules / MC4x updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 2 years ago 1

We have specified an MC43 over the lesser modules in the range because of the additional inputs we need to monitor in the controller. We are not using any outputs on the module therefore current draw is minimal.

Is the only reason there is a second power supply pin (+BATT) to drive the additional outputs that can be configured on the MC43? Because we are not using any outputs (therefore current draw is hardly anything) can we connect only one of the +BATT pin to the supply, is there any technical reason why this cannot be done? I don't have a module to hand but I assume they are internally connected? is there a current limit on the module outputs if we only connect one pin?

I have had a look through the manual, the diagram on page 58 suggests we need to connect both pins on MC43 module only.

Has anyone ever had issues with overlapping CAN messages with CANopen devices?

Deanne 2 years ago updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 2 years ago 0

A question came up regarding CANopen devices with various voltage references. A customer is experiencing overlapping CAN messages due to one of their devices having a -VREF using a different brand of controller. I am wondering if this issue is seen on IQAN or if IQAN already has processes in place that avoids this issue.

Connecting LST to MD4-5 or MC42?

Deanne 2 years ago in Levers updated by andyr 2 years ago 1

The setup we are working with has a 12V power supply. With our power supply being 12V, we cannot connect our LST to it as the max load is 5Vdc. Is it possible to connect the LST to the MD4-5 or the MC42 we have and get power from that?

Systems near each other with G11

chuck streb 2 years ago in Gateways updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 2 years ago 2

Our product usually will sit next to each other in the field.

How do we ensure we are talking to the correct G11 when logging on?

Answer

The discovered G11's will also show whatever was set as the 'Machine ID' that can be set through IQANrun

Used MDL2 modules

I have 4 used MDL2 modules (one with sim port, three without). If you are looking online and can't find them, let me know.

Cable numbers

Marcel 2 years ago in Other 0

We see on fairly regular basis lately that the cables we order are not correct. The numbers on the cables do no correspond with the pin number in the connector.

We use the:

Cable kit MC41 C1

Iqan DTM06-12 A cable MD3/4

Iqan DTM06-12 B cable MD3/4

Hope you can fix this issue and deliver good quality cables in the future. It costs a lot of time wondering why something doesn't work because the wrong cable is connected
