MC43 low side pulled up

Petit 4 years ago in Master modules / MC4x updated 4 years ago 6

Hi all,

I'm currently testing an MC43 on our HIL bench and notice some issue with the low side driver at startup.

On our system, all the low side driver of the MC43 at pulled up to supply voltage with a 10K pull up resistor.

The problem is that when we switch on the ECU, it's going into error with the code 4:2.

We find out that by waiting 1.5 sec at startup before pulling up the low side driver fix the problem.

The problem is that on the vehicle we will probably end up in this situation as some low side driver are going to be pulled up throw some relay coil.

Is the unit is going into error if any low side driver is pulled up or only some of them trigger it ?

Thanks for your support,

Grégoire

Reading thermistors on MC43

Cole Koster 4 years ago in Master modules / MC4x updated by anonymous 3 years ago 3

I am trying to read a NTC thermistor with a resistive output ranging from 810 - 76.9 ohms on the MC43.

In the past we have used a voltage divider circuit to read the sensor value on a VIN channel, but if the MC43 could introduce a bias current to the thermistor then the output voltage could read without the need for a second resistor in the mix.

I did not seeing any mention of this in the MC43 manual but was wondering if anyone has faced this challenge before.

Thank you.

Touchscreen issues

Ethan Zeman 4 years ago in Master modules / MD4 updated 4 years ago 6
I have seen increased reports of customers who have had to replace MD4s due to failed touchscreens.  The MD4 will still work fine but the touchscreen will quit responding.  I've had a few returned for review and it almost seems like the screen is delaminating (see attached photo)?

Most have occurred after several years of operation so not particularly early hour failures, but I would still expect a longer life from a touchscreen (my phone for example gets much more use and abuse).

Just wanted to put this out to see if others are seeing the same issue or if Parker is aware and has made any improvements to the screen over the years?

PWM to control small load

mtanguay 4 years ago in Master modules / MC4x updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 4 years ago 1

Hello,

We are currently working with a MC43, and I had a question regarding the use of PWM out as a control device. I found this post, since it was 4 years old thought I would ask again. We are trying to control a water valve position with one of the PWM out on the MC43, but not getting the expected results.

The datasheet specifies a leakage current of 2mA. What do you recommend to clean this up and bring it down close to 0?

I am relatively new to the whole IQAN infrastructure and I am wondering why is there such a high leakage current? Is there any benefit to it?

Thanks in advance

Master controller performance Comparison

Jean-Marc Zanni 4 years ago in Master modules updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 4 years ago 1

Is there a chart comparing controller performances other than just I/O counts such as Memory size/ processor speed.

Specifically I am looking to decide what is the next platform we are going to use.  I am looking for a Non display master with large number of Can interface.  So MC43 comes to mind but in thread I read it does not seem to be as powerful as the MD4 display series.

Replace one master in a multi-master system?

Jacob Eklund 4 years ago in Master modules updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 4 years ago 3

Hello, we have a multi-master system on a prototype consisting of a MC41FS and a MD4 on a prototype. We just we discovered a bug in the code for the MD4. We have had problems before with updating the code remotely (The system reports a Application not loaded state). Luckily for us we have a MC41FS and a MD4 at our office and a service trip planed, unfortunately I can't go and I am the only one with a IQAN-license . We where wondering if we can load the new code into the MD4 and replace the one on the prototype? or will this cause

some kind of master mismatch error? is it better to program both masters

and replace the whole multi-master system? Or will it simply not work?

MD4-10 - Axis Video Encoder M7011 -MJPEG link for 4.07

Damir Pinezić 4 years ago in Master modules / MD4 updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 4 years ago 7

Hi all,

I have read all forum topics which include connecting IP camera to the Parker MD4, and try almost every combination of URL and still didn't found the right one.

Does anyone knows what URL should I use and maybe why I could not get stream from this Axis Video Encoder(M7011), it states in datasheet it suppports MJPEG and with VLC I can connect and stream rtsp but when I check in VLC stream info it sjhows that it uses MPEG4.

1. I have set right ip addressa and subnet mask 192.168.128.xxx/255.255.128.0

2. I have enable anonymous access on Video encoder

3. use every possible link I could found (axis-media/media.amp, axis-cgi/mjpg/video.cgi, mjpg/video.mjpg)

Is it possible that this video encoder does not support MJPEG even if it states this in documentation?

Does anyone have experience with this video encoder model?

Thanks!

Is there a Sleep or Hibernate Function in the MC4/MD4 series?

jsherrill 4 years ago in Master modules updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 4 years ago 1

Is there a feature built-in to place the MC-4 series into a sleep or hibernate state? If so, is there the ability to Wake on CAN? Will this be implemented in the future?
